Pilot mechanical pencils 0.5
I love using mechanical pencils for writing and this pilot dr. Grip 0.5 is one of my favorite, soft grips, thick, non slip, and easy to use.

Expensive but LOVE it!
Love this pencil. If anyone asks to borrow it, I make it CLEAR that they CANNOT run off with it or I will hunt them down! I swear this pen makes me smarter.

Winning style for comfortable writing
Love this pencil. This is on the inexpensive end of the mechanical pencil spectrum, but as far as being comfortable to hold, it wins hands down with its wider than average barrel and cushioned grip. BTW, I own one of the original style Dr. Grip mechanical pencils, and the rubbery grip is much better on this pencil. On the original style, the grip is not as "squishy," does not extend as close to the tip of the pencil, and has a sharp feeling edge where it ends. You can see in the photo I shared that the newer has a more gradual slope where it stops. It has a small eraser, and this particular model has no clip. The option to shake the pencil to advance the lead is fantastic. I just lift the lead slightly from the paper, shake a couple of times, and keep writing. This design is a winner. (I've included a photo of both styles).

Yes, it's Dr. Grip
This pencil is written in Japanese (or Korean) but don't let that throw you- it's still a Dr. Grip. I have several of these pencils and I've never had a problem. One thing I like about the pencils for the Asian market is that instead of having a pocket clip (which I tend to break off), this has a place to attach a charm or a short string of beads. I know, it's not that big of a deal but it does give me something to fiddle with in class. I also love the different barrel colors so I'm not stuck with navy or black. This uses .5 mm lead so I've had to learn not to press too hard but other than that, no complaints here.

My daughter loves these!
Regular pencils and mechanical pencils hurt my daughter’s fingers while writing. She loves how comfortable these are. So worth it, and you can purchase charms to decorate them! All the girls in her class want one now.

Bought as a Gift
Bought this as a gift for my family who is into stationery goods. She really loves this mechanical pencil because it doesn't have a clip that always hit her hand and bother her while writing. I haven't use this item so I can't comment on it, but I haven't heard any complain from her so far.
