Smooth
Fits on an eyepiece nicely and the x and y axes movements are very smooth. Well built.

A tip on use
Some have struggled to get this adapter to work with smartphones, iPhones in particular. Most smartphones have multiple cameras, one each for wide field, normal, and zoom photos. I suggest that you use the "normal" lens. On my iPhone 13 pro it is on the bottom left. Look at your smartphone manual and find the camera that is used for normal photos. Open your camera app and select "1x" on the zoom. Do not change it! Align the normal camera with the telescope eyepiece. Be aware: if you zoom out beyond 1x or zoom in too much (8x on my iPhone) your smartphone will automatically switch lenses. I have had great luck with this system. You can try the wide angle and zoom lenses. But you might waste much of the frame at the widest setting. And you might not capture the entire field of the eyepiece at higher zoom settings. Good luck!

This is a great way of taking images with your phone
I use this to allow my cellphone to take pictures of objects through my telescope. It attaches easily to my telescope eye piece and is adjustable so I can get the phone camera centered just right. Well-made of quality materials.

Not useful for daytime work
This mounting bracket does not hold the phone close enough to the lens to block external light. When used during the day, the pictures show the "tube" of the lens. At night, this is probably OK, as you would not have much external light pollution, but for use during the day, this device is unusable.

It’s too much to do in the field for birding
I've got a new spotting scope. I thought using my phone to take pictures would be a fun addition to the experience. This device was disappointing. It might work well for someone else doing astrophotography but not for my needs. I've returned this device and since learned of other much simpler…although more expensive, options. I'll be doing my research.
