NOT TRUE SIZE! Too small to work in my A/C
Filters are NOT the described size. They are SMALLER than listed and will not correctly replace OEM filters. Also, mine were also defective as the glue holding the ends of the filter paper to the frame had already let go, so there were gaps between the filter paper and the frame in which air could by-pass the filter entirely. Also, the shipping box was not reinforced on the corners, so where the corners of the shipping box were crushed, it meant that the filters inside were crushed also. Unless your a/c unit requires a filter that is smaller than 20x25x4, do not order - they will not fill the entire void in the duct, which mean air will just go around the filter.

Became very costly!
These filters have cost me a lot of money! I ordered these a while back 4 1/2 months ago to be exact. I started using them 2 months ago. I came home 7 weeks ago to a very hot house. Went out and the A/C was frozen up. I unthawed it and called a A/C company to figure out what was going on. Everything checked out. Went 2 weeks with cooler weather and everything was great. It got hot again and it froze up again. I called a different company and everything was fine. A total of 4 companies and over $700 in service call fees I finally figured it out on my own. It was frozen up and I let it unthaw again and took out the filter and put back in a cheap one and have had no problems. I’ve called 2 of the companies and met them to show them the filters and they said to never purchase again. It wasn’t allowing air to flow because they were to thick and are not made of materials to filter. Smh. Amazon should refund me every dollar with the money they make ripping people off with such junk.

20 x 25 x 4 filter - look elsewhere
The pictures tell the tale. Advertised as 20" x 25" x 4", but actual measurements are 19.5" x 24.5" x 4". Against my better judgement, I installed one of the filters for months ago. I removed it today, and it still looks brand new. It is not filtering anything because the air is getting sucked around the filter and not through it. Unfortunately, I bought a case of these, and every one of them is useless. This is blatant fraud in my eyes. Others must have complained as well, because when I purchased these, the description was shown as "Aerostar 20x25x4 MERV 8 Pleated Air Filter, Made in the USA, 6-Pack " but during this review I see they changed the description to reflect the actual dimensions. "Aerostar 20x25x4 MERV 8 Pleated Air Filter, Made in the USA 19 1/2" x 24 1/2" x 3 3/4", 6-Pack". I included a picture of the email confirmation showing the description that was listed when I purchased these filters. Size is the single most important spec when buying filters, and these sizes were woefully misrepresented.

I thought I would order some online through amazon and it worked out wonderfully. They were reasonably-priced and I got a higher
It is often a pain buying filters for the AC/furnace: more economical to buy a bunch, prices vary, ratings vary, brands vary . . . and you throw out the filter in a month or so! You just want it to work. I thought I would order some online through amazon and it worked out wonderfully. They were reasonably-priced and I got a higher R rating for the product than a lesser rating at a greater price. It arrived on time. No damage. And the filters work! This will be my source for future filters.

MERV 8 Filters
I know, many people don't understand the MERV rating on air filters. Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, commonly known as MERV rating, is a measurement scale used to effectively scrub air in your house. So what goes into the HVAC system is cleaner when it comes out. Most of the air we use in a residence or office building comes directly from the air already in the system. Yes, there is an intake of air from the outside. But the majority of the air we use comes from inside. So when everyone in the house/office has the flu, guess what, it's because the air filters in the build should have been replaced. Once the effectiveness of the filter is compromised, and they should be changed every 3 months (or less), then you just let all those pass through the filter and into the next person. Breathe deep. It's worse on air planes. MERV 8 is just right for us at home. People who have severe allergies should get high efficiently rated filters. They cost more, but you will get sick less.

To small and doesn't filter anything but large debree
Idited 2 months later:Had this filter installed for about a month and a half, spring is here and pollen everywhere. I had pretty bad allergies even when I was inside the house all day. Decided to check the filter and it looked like brand new. This filter doesn't filter out anything. Aside from the fact that it's smaller than needs to be, it doesn't do it's job. My other Marv 8 filters by name brand would barely last over a month and get clogged up so bad that the heater won't kick on. Anyway, I went to a local store and picked up a different filter. A day later and I feel so much better, my allergies have subsided and the filter fits properly (like it's supposed to). I won't be making this mistake any more.Original:Well, as many have already said, they are smaller than standard size by about half an inch, maybe even more. I'm not gonna bother returning them but I won't be buying any more. I understand company is trying to cut costs on every corner, but aside from the size of them I think this is a great filter. I wouldn't mind paying a dollar more just to have this same filter fit perfectly.

Beware of Size and Noise (whistle)!!
I have two HVAC systems in my home. Both take two filters and both are different sizes. I bought both sizes in this brand. One was MERV 8, the other 11. I'm writing specifically about the MERV 8 - 20x25 filters. The larger filters are MERV 11 and so far, appear to be ok.Both size filters are sized small, meaning, they will likely fit your filter hosing loosely. This isn't the first I've run into this and use magnets to hold the filter in place so they don't drop & bang when the system turns off.The difference with these filters is I believe they are loose enough that it creates air leaks, so they create a WHISTLE! Yes, the entire time when the HVAC system is running, there is a whistle and this happens at both filter locations. This stinks, but I'm stuck with it since I bought an entire box! So if you don't mind a whistling noise, these appear to be a decent value; however, I'll pay more next time.

Not satisfied
I bought these filters looking at so many positive reviews. I have always bought 3m or Kirkland brand filters for my lennox furnace, they are pricier but work well for atleast 2 months or so. The frame on these is very weak and they bend inwards in the direction of air flow as noted by some other reviewers. These hardly last for 2 weeks or so and then there is a significant reduction in air flow. I can hardly feel any air from vents, as soon as i pop a new one, air flow is back to normal. Feel like filters get clogged easily and restricts air flow in a matter of few days. Dont recommed these at all, spend the extra $$ and get something better

Wish I Found These Sooner
Good quality filter with wire mesh. These are not the super thick "expensive" filters found in stores, but, then again, it was recommended by my furnace tech to avoid the high priced ones, as they do not allow for enough airflow and the material is simply too tight and dense. These are exactly what I need, and having a pack of six makes replacing a breeze. Plus, they are shipped straight to the house. What could be easier!

Good quality filter for furnaces not able to handle the higher mesh HEPA types.
For those who have older furnaces, some of the fans cannot handle too much latent back-pressure, so these will still do a great job of filtering air and finer dust, but aren't tight enough to grab the VERY fine stuff, since the mesh is more open. allows more air flow for those situations. Packed well and came as promised!I'd have liked these individually wrapped - these are unwrapped and stacked into a box, FYI

Good for condo units
Seems to work . Beware actual dimension is 3/4 inch thick. I bought it because of that so I could place it into my thin condo magicpak filter slots . It’s tight but much better than standard fibreglass sheets

Used to be much better, now the quality is in the gutter. need to replace every two weeks.
Bought it twice, MERV 8, the first time really enjoyed the quality, lasted for 2-3 months with no problems. Ordered a second package and it's terrible. Cloggs after week-two and then there's almost no air flow. Will use up this package and that's it - back to buying from Costco. Shame.
