Gray Market/Fakes? Frames warped. Persol does not allow to sell discounted sunglasses.
Paid $220. Box looked good. Case was a cheap leatherette vinyl (weird). Sunglasses were seriously warped so that one frame side was 3/8" higher/lower than the other. Overall visual quality was good, so much so that I bet a lot of buyers just keep these sunglasses even with minor issues. Interesting that Amazon had the same model on the next week for $181. Looks like the discounted sellers on Amazon are the same vendor, one address is to a Fedex mail center, both out of NYC, scammy. They also show two lens sizes, persol only sells these in 52MM. Thankful for Amazon return policy. I ended up going to Sunglass Hut to make sure I got the real deal. They are perfect quality as expected. Came with a hard case, not cheap vinyl. You get what you pay for in this instance. I feel that the only way to get new genuine Persol is by going to Persol direct or Sunglass Hut which are both owned by Luxottica. Anything way discounted I will not mess with again. FWIW
