PackTowl Luxe Quick Dry Microfiber Towel for Beach and Travel

I purchased this towel in the bath size 24" x 54" to replace another synthetic travel towel (Innate towel) that was damaged beyond repair. I primarily use these synthetic towels for use after surfing as well as travelling. The main benefit of using synthetic towels is its ability to dry quickly after use and packability compared to cotton towels we all know and love.I have been using this towel for a month now and can attest to its ability to soak up water from your body like a cotton towel and not like a chamois like other synthetic towels. It feels great on your skin, is soft, absorbent and will dry quickly in the sun or if left hanging in a room. For instance if you take a shower at night before bed the towel will be usable in the morning and will not feel damp or pick up odors from multiple uses. This is critical for me because when I go in trips I can just take this one towel and I know I can use it for days without it getting funky. I'm actually considering buying a few more and completely getting rid of cotton towels that are more bulky and need more energy to wash and dry more frequently. All in all if you like the feel of regular towels but need the quick drying, compactness, and odor resistant properties of a synthetic, you will be satisfied with this towel.As an aside I also own the Packtowl personal towel that has been rated and reviewed a million times over. I also use that towel and it works very well and I leave that one in my truck or use it hiking. In comparison to the luxe, it is even more compact and packable and light but while it does dry your skin and hair well there's just no comparison to the way we've been programed in life to enjoy cotton towels. This to me is the goldilocks of towels; feels like a towel, packs smaller, and dries quicker than a cotton towel. Both are great products so just choose the one you feel has better qualities you're looking for.Since I think this is the first review of this product I want to also say I purchased this item on my own (on sale) and was not given to me by the manufacturer or Amazon.

These are excellent. I find that they are as comfortable, plush, and absorbent as my previous terry cotton towels were, and much more so than usual microfiber towels are -- I don't have to "pat" so much when I dry off, because the fibers don't "catch" against my skin so much, like typical microfiber does. I let them hang dry completely before folding, but have used them for a couple months now without washing them (except for the first wash before use, which I always do, because I am very sensitive to many chemicals) and they don't smell musty or gross. I didn't find that there was any lingering chemical smells or film on the towels after the first washing (before use), and it hasn't bothered my MCS at all. Dries pretty quickly -- not as fast as regular microfiber towels, but still much faster than regular cotton towels. I have not found that the dye has leeched out of the fabric, but YMMV. The hems and snaps have held up well so far. The color is pretty true to the picture -- a vibrant jewel teal-blue -- which is a little much for most bathrooms, but I'm not buying these for their ability to color-coordinate with decor.I love microfiber towels, but I _especially_ love these for their plushness. In my opinion, well worth the extra money, as long as you can let them take a little longer to dry than other microfiber towels need.

Husband took this on a 6 night backpacking trek in the Rocky mountains, he had a lot of stuff to carry so this was ideal, small & lightweight. There were no facilities on his trip, he bathed in a creek and this was his only towel and it came back in good shape, launders great, ready for the next expedition.

We bought a set of these when we went rafting through the Grand Canyon...great choice. They pack beautifully - small enough to take up little room and big enough to actually dry a body.Just bought a few more to use on our boat. They hang onto a suction hook attached to the bulkhead (not too heavy) - they absorb well and dry quickly. They are pleasant on the skin - that's important too.We live in the tropics - so these are just right. The quick dry means they don't get the chance to mildew or get smelly /icky. They are a dream to wash - I can even hand wash them and hang on deck to dry.BTW - the color is prettier than it looks in the pic.

This is bulkier than Packtowl's 'classic' microfibre towels, but by the same measure it's also much softer and resembles a real cotton towel.In terms of bulk, this is about 1/3 the bulk of a normal cotton towel, about 2 to 3x thicker than a regular Packtowl.In terms of feel, while the classic packtowl tends to make you feel like you're towelling yourself with paper towels, the luxe is much closer to feeling like a normal towel. I wouldn't say the effect is perfect- the towel still tends to 'cling' to skin and is pretty thin, but it's much more tolerable. The only real criticism I can give it is that the immediate edges of the towel are inelastic and therefore tend to cut into you as you're toweling yourself off- I had to give it a once-foldover to keep that edge away from my skin.As far as drying capabilities- I did notice that this towel dries a bit slower than a regular Packtowl. I would still characterize it as a quick dry towel because it's significantly faster than a regular cotton towel. There were a situation when camping where I tried to dry some clothing items in a tent while it was raining outside (for what seemed like a whole week), and while the regular Packtowl (eventually, after a whole day or something) dried, the thicker Packtowl Luxe stayed damp. It was wet and miserable enough outside that I would only call it a 'symbolic' victory though. In more 'normal' conditions where you aren't forced to hang the towels in damp weather, both the regular and Luxe Packtowl's dry very quickly.The other characteristics of packtowls- enormous water holding capacity, resistance to odors, is all there.Unless I'm able to nab a 5 star hotel, this is the only towel I ever use when I travel now.

Fürs Campen haben wir uns für schnelltrocknende Mikrofaserhandtücher entschieden. Haben hierfür einige probiert. Packtowel luxe hat uns vom Hautgefühl überzeugt. Kommt einem Baumwollhandtuch sehr nah.

Even if the picture and description says that it comes in 4 sizes this is just a single piece of towel
