We have been buying this plug in for a few months now and it really works. I have a male cat who gets stressed quite easily and he was urinating in the house anywhere but in the litter trays. Our vet suggested this and now he's a lot more relaxed and there have been no more accidents. You will need to be patient as it takes about 6 weeks to start having an effect. It's well worth for a happy kitty.

I have this in my house all the time now ..my cat is 15 years old and gets stressed very easily this resulted in her urinating around the house ....the vet suggested this product and it helped greatly..it calmed her down and the urinating stopped ' my cat was much happier calmer ' I won't be without now .....I do feel its a little expencive ' but ...its worth the money ..

In brief, our cat who is about 12 years old is extremely difficult. She always has been. She runs if there is a knock at the door, we can't pick her up for more than a few seconds, we have never been able to groom her for more than a few seconds at a time... no matter what we do we haven't been able to address her skittish ways. Also, with her getting older she has started acting weirder than normal and getting into very strange habits.So, in the first month of using this plugin, we didn't really see any difference until the end of the month. It was very slight. She seemed a little calmer so we thought we'd give it more time. We are now on our third plugin as we think it's working. It's still not easy applying her flea treatment but not as bad as previously. Even despite the slight benefit in behaviour we think it's worth it as she does seem calmer overall. In our opinion this is much cheaper than a prescription from the vet and definitely worth a try. And we suggest giving it at least two months.Also, we have a two bedroom open plan house so the plugin is situated at the bottom of the stairs. When it has been hot and all windows/doors open we turned it off and then turned back on at night and it still seems effective.Our next option was to call in Juju priests if this hadn't worked! hahaha

Feliway Optimum is indispensable in our house . It keeps our nervous cat calm and content.

We have 7 cats (4 males and 3 females) which when first introduced got on reasonably okay but would occasionally fight. We decided to give the Feliway plugins a try after the vet recommended it and we really notice a difference. Before starting to use the Feliway plugins we found that two of our male cats (who weren't related) would fight often, with the Feliway they are much calmer and occasionally play fight but not as aggressively.We use two Feliway Optimum plugins in a 3 bedroom semi, one downstairs in the hallway and another in the upstairs hallway. It can be a little bit expensive, but it does work well (we've noticed on occasions when the Feliway has run out the cats will start fighting again).One important thing to note, they do get hot, so they should be put somewhere where there's good ventilation, certainly don't cover them up. They also hang down about an inch from the power socket so if you have sockets mounted on skirting boards they may not fit (I'm not sure if they work as effectively if they're on their side plugged into an extension lead).

I used optimum for the first month, swapped to classic for the next 3 months. And have now used optimum for this month. My cat is very shy, does not like strangers, or other cats. Is a bit of a loner.1st month my cat was very nervous, but it was a new home for him and he was only a kitten. I found he did not like being picked up, cuddled or stroked. Would run and hide from any noise or stranger. If I went to hold or stroke him he would run away. Over the next 3 months he settled down and would come for a very short cuddle at night as long as I only stroked him a little. He would follow me around everywhere and towards the end of the 3 classic bottles, He would accept me stroking him. I wasn't sure if the feliway was working or whether he was just used to his surroundings. I thought zs I was going on holiday soon, and family members would be looking after him I would try optimum again. From the 1st 24hrs I could see a difference in his attitude. He was calmer and more friendly. He allowed me to stroke him when he was near me and stayed in the room when my family visited. While I was away he has gone up to my family and asked for strokes. So I can say feliway works. My cat is calmer, more friendly and sociable. He has just turned a year old and I will continue to use optimum until he no longer needs it.
