Linksys AC1200 Boost EX Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE6400) (Certified Refurbished)

Against my better judgment I purchased this refurbished unit. I was never able to complete the setup after a couple hours so returning. First clue that things were not going to go well was when I first tried to connect and it did not show up with the default ssid. Instead it had the previous owner's setup so how well could this have been refurbished. I used paper clip to reset and then was able to start going through the process as documented. Each time I would select my home network and enter the password but then the next setup page would state the connection was lost and that it would continue when the connection returned. My phones however thought they were still connected to the extender. I tried setting this up using an iPhone and a Samsung phone but no luck. Tried in a couple locations but no luck. Called support(using number in the setup manual and not the disconnected number on the other Linksys insert) and they just walked me through the same steps and had no suggestion other than what I had already tried. I have a cisco wifi router and have connected numerous devices to it and have never had an issue.

This is a very good extender. My tips:1. Connect via ethernet cable (use re6400-xxx address to access with browser), login (admin password) and upgrade the firmware to the latest v1.2.03 as of this date)2. Setup as follows:- assign static IP 192.168.1.2- 2.4 and 5GHz WPA2 protected, same SSID broadcasted- as Access Point (Wired Range Extender)- reboot- access it via 192.168.1.2 on the wired connection and you are good to go3. Now you AP giving you full available network speeds over wireless; I just had guests stay over and they couldn't believe they had 100 Mbps steady Internet data speed throughout most of my house (the AP is located on the main floor, wire to my LAN ethernet). 2nd floor signal drops to ~70 MBps at the furthest point but that's still blazing fast for a cellphone or ipad

It was easy to set up and the range was actually better than I expected from some of the reviews I've read. Set up was a little lengthy (you have to wait for it to recognize the signal and such), but it wasn't actually difficult. Just read the instructions well and be patient and wait.Overall, for the price it was amazing. Our wireless router is in the front room of our house and it's easy to get in the immediate upstairs and parts of the next 2 rooms. The backyard and connected garage are spotty. Placed this range extender in the kitchen (3 rooms away) and now we have 5 bars of signal 2 more rooms over and upstairs in the back of the house. Definitely worth a buy if you have a weak signal even in very isolated parts of your house.

Had it up and running in about 15 minutes using the WPS button on my router and range extender for both bands. Went into range extender's setup manager and the changed the extender's password from "admin" to my own password. This took a little doing but if you read the instructions and follow them closely it well all come together. The "spotfinder" in the setup manager came in handy in choosing the extender's location in my home. I'm well pleased so far but time will tell.

This definitely increases the range of my Linksys 6350 router but I had hoped for a greater boost because it mentions 7500 sq ft in the description. Setup was easy once I figured out that you use your network password and not a device password. This creates an additional network name with an _EXT entension. You have to log your devices into this range extender rather than your router in order take advantage of it.This refurbished device is definitely a good value.

This dual-band Wifi extender is small and easily placed, gives excellent boost to both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz, including devices with faster 802.11AC Wifi, is easy to setup and is a good value. This is the second one I have installed. This refurbished product appears to be new. It was delivered promptly and well packaged. It works as represented.

First setup was somewhat complicated due to the fact that you have to navigate to the extender's TCP/IP via webpage. After configuring, the unit worked well and extended both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signals. Later, about a month later, the unit started to lag. I noticed the data speed had dropped by over a factor of 10 to a slow DSL crawl. Tried to reset it and setup but would not go full speed compared to the main wireless router.

It works most of the time. It disconnects sometimes. But it does the job. I wanted to connect my ring to a source that was closer than my main router. I’m my case it works good for the one job it is asked to do. Cannot comment on everyday heave use.

Delivery was really fast, have made my selection after checking the product online, Please check user review videos to make sure it satisfy your need. if your router is too far away, this is not the optimal solution. Internet Connection speed will be compromised.looks like new, no cosmetic damage of any kindas described, its certified refurbish from Linksys which developed my sense of confidence. setup my Xbox, and TV to this router, works great

I'm not sure if it's the product I received is defective or it's just how it is made but the wireless 5MHZ connection drops frequently while the 2.4MHZ is always perfect. Easy setup.
