RadioShack AM/FM Stereo Headset Radio

I love this headset! Excellent quality, exactly what I wanted. I am hearing impaired and live in an apartment, so I wanted a headset to avoid bothering neighbors. Battery operated, so no cord tangles while listening to AM or FM radio. But it works equally well when connected to my laptop. Better quality sound than the laptop speakers!Comfortable, almost automatically adjust to fit. Easy controls. No cons on this item!

My spouse tried some others and they didn't work. The last ones were sound cancelling so he could not wear them outside. These Radio Shack headset are not sound cancelling so they can be worn outside and you can hear things in your surroundings (like the car coming as you cross the street). Of course he actually wears them -- all the time (vs laying it on its side and listening because of the sound cancelling). Very good product.

This is the third time my husband has purchased this radio headphone set. He is old school and very set in his ways and loves this one. It’s easy for him to adjust without taking it off his head. He knows where every button and dial is. It’s comfortable, the sound quality is decent, it’s preset to his favorite stations while he is working out. He’s tried the newer ones but is so used to this clunker that he always goes back. What can I say? His last one survived about fifteen years, and he puts them through the wringer. There will be no living with him if it is ever discontinued.

It has 10 AM and 10 FM preset stations you can set and forget it. They don’t lose their stations between battery changes. I have used them with 800 mAh nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries which last 6 days per charge and the batteries last over 3 years. I keep 4 batteries, and recharge two at a time. So these things never run out.Also, these headsets have an auxiliary Jack that you can plug into a cassette player or iPhone that has an external cable.

A Fantastic purchase. Just what I needed to get good AM/Fm radio!

We purchased these headphones for our daughter who is blind and disabled. She loves music but can't always hook up to someone's Bluetooth to enjoy. These headphones are AM/FM radio and run on batteries. The reception is great even inside a concrete building. Very comfortable ear pads. We will probably order a couple more to keep in us in stock so she won't have to go without.

This headset was wonderful for the 2 months my husband was able to use it. He was listening to a ballgame and thanked me for getting them for him, then he went to turn it off…it wouldn’t shut off. He removed the batteries, reinserted them, then it wouldn’t turn on. He tried new batteries…no go. We called Amazon, they told us to do what he had just done with the same results, then suggested we call Radio Shack since it was more than 30 days, but less than 90. Radio Shack wouldn’t help either since they were purchased through Amazon, but suggested I drive over an hour away into Boston to a repair shop to try to get them repaired. No help at all!!

The sound is great. The battery time is not what they claim it is. But the biggest problem I have and will be trying to get a refund is that the headphone (where the power switch button is located) continually squeaks and creaks and despite cranking the volume---the squeaking and creaking come right through, impinging on the sound from only that headphone. It seems as if the product was manufactured poorly, but what I do not know is if they are ALL like that. Unfortunately, Radio Shack will send me a new one---only AFTER I send them the one I have. I will NEVER do that, but I will give them my credit card # so that I can use the box to ship to them (at their expense only) the problem one WHEN I RECEIVE A REPLACEMENT. Radio Shack REFUSES to do this. So I will use my warranty and get a new one that way.It's a shame because the product meets every one of my desires---but that sound of a badly-put together product is a killer.
