Good grill
Love how it's stainless steel and aluminum. Does not heat evenly. Hot spots and cooler spots. But you have to learn you're grill to cook awesome food. (My first cook was 3 yes 3lbs of bacon at once)

Avoid This BBQ
This is my 3rd Broil King BBQ over the last 12 years. With my first 2 grills I was quite happy and decided to stick with the brand when going up to a larger size at my new home. Sadly, due to poor performance I've gone back to using lump charcoal in a kettle and don't use the Broil King that much. The packaging and delivery were good. The grill looks great - quite impressive and feels very well made.Assembly wasn't that bad, though you do need to pay attention and apply common sense at a few spots. Now the negatives...The side infrared burner barely gets above 600degrees and no amount of trouble shooting has got this rectified. The main burners take about 15min to get up to 450-500. I consider this too long for a gas based BBQ.The BBQ has a hard time maintaining temp unless the cover is closed ... Dropping to 300 - 350.Temp coverage is not that good - hot spots and colder spots can make using the entire grilling surface a challenge. If looking for a new BBQ, skip this one.

Do not buy
This is my third Broil King grill in 15 years. The first was the best grill ever, unfortunately lost it in a divorce. Second was great. The new generation sucks, plastic everywhere and it is falling apart after a year. It took me 3 hours to put together with the pictogram directions.Might as well buy a Walmart grill that will have the same quality. The best thing they produce is the cover, super high quality.

Very Solid, Great Assembly
I agonized for years about a new BBQ, this BroilKing Baron ticks most of the boxes and was priced nicely. It is a beautifully engineered product! Even though the instructions are pictorial, it was easy to assemble. Some steps were confusing because the pictures show parts in the wrong scale, I looked for many items only to find they were much larger or smaller than depicted. On to performance...1) Takes longer to heat than expected, maybe as much as 10 minutes2) Stainless grill is tough to clean, food sticks even with pre-treatment with a good olive oil.3) Slower cooking, many items take 20% longer than with my old "Aussie" grill.4) Cover is not double insulated! That may account for the slower cooking times. Here's the good:1) Very pretty!2) Flav-R-Wave does help BBQ smoky flavor. AND flare-up is well controlled.3) Cover does not extend very far behind the grill when open. I have the grill about three inches from a wall and the cover doesn't hit the wall when open.4) Ignitors work perfectly! Light one burner with ignitor and the others will light themselves.I chose this grill partly based on size, my area is narrow. This grill fits!As a note, the side shelves do fold down when not in use. The shelf with the burner folds but the burner's gas tube hits the stand and knocks the burner out and opens the lid. I'm trying to find a way to bend the burner tube up to prevent interference. Alternatively, I may add screws to hold the burner in place.I cannot whole-heartedly recommend this BBQ, food sticks on the stainless grill, slow to cook, cannot get a good sear. Cover is not insulated double layer. I would send it back but I no longer have the packing materials. In a year or so, I may replace it. My old grill lasted 23 years, outside in SoCal.

Love it
We have been a fan of broil king for years. Purchased this one to replace our 4 burner baron. Heats up great and hold the heat with that double lined hood. Have used weber in the past and this is the king of gas grills

Weak construction
The base keeps coming off. I have tried everything but no way!. Do not plan on rolling this thing even a feet, or turn your bbq using the wheels. I recommend lifting it and moving it. I’m planning on building a wooden base with wheels.I rate it a 2 for that. Construction of base and frame are weak!It would be an absolute 5 for the typical quality of the grill itself. Maybe they have built-ins?

Better than nice, a sliver below awesome.
Nice BBQ, a step up from my 15 year old Crown.Missed a star due to poorly thought out internal cabinet design and not including a cast iron grate option. They have the regulator hose in the way of the tank valve, plus all the igniter and light wires dangle in front of it. Had they reversed the lower panel (tank and brace swap sides) it would be so much better. Also, I prefer cast iron grates which are available, but at added cost and are not cheap plus now I have a set of stainless grates for no reason…I also thought I’d have more room for rotisserie diameter but the lid is lower than I thought so it looks like it’s bigger but not by much, a taller lid would have helped.Still, it’s better than nice…but just a whisker below awesome.
