This strip is much more cost-effective than the plain white "LED Lights for folk harp" ($12 versus $69!).This was easy to install, and is barely noticeable when turned off. It was easily shortened to fit my instrument without damaging the ability to light up, and the cords tuck away.The manual that comes with this product explains installation, but not the different lighting modes.I like having the options of using colors besides white. Of the color-change modes, I like the graduated change the best, although the angry pulsing red mode is fun too.There is a little box on the power cord that contains the microphone for "music" mode that is bulky, and the box is very close to the connector of the strip. I needed to order a 4-pin extension cable so I could place the box in a more convenient spot where it would be hidden.The reason that I am not giving this product five stars is because I am unimpressed by the "music" mode. When I pluck one note, the light strip goes crazy and cycles through all of the colors at a bizarre speed. When I actually try to play a tune, it just goes crazy. I like the idea of the "music" mode, but this just doesn't work for my purposes. If I ever need to replace this light strip, I'll order the version that does not have a "music" mode, so that I can avoid the bulky microphone box and the extension cord.

Lights work properly and do what they say they will do, but simply don’t illuminate like I expected. I’ve played with the setting and they still aren’t very bright unless you are in complete darkness.I think I was expecting more of a strobe light affect.

What can I say other than "perfect"? Worked right out of the box and will be perfect for a large lithophane that I am creating for a local band. "Chinglish" instructions as expected, but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to operate these. Remember to pull out the plastic strip from the remote, plug in the lights (they only fit in one direction), plug into a usb port, hit the bottom-right button on the remote and crank the tunes.I purchased 3 of the items for projects, but since the are very sensitive to sound, I may put one in my bathroom to light my way late at night. A simple "sssssst" will give just enough light without the blindness caused by the overhead lights.Great product that arrived days early and in pristine and working condition. Will definitely purchase again for future projects.

This was such a great buy. It was better than I expected. The quality of the product was well made and it comes with a easy understanding instruction. It adds a nice decoration to my room. Would repurchase if needed.
