Mom, I've Always Wanted to Tell You Diary – April 4, 2012

I lost my mother in October of 2016. For a few years before that, I'd toyed with getting a book that she could fill out, or just anything where there would be a written record of certain questions. You always think there's going to be a tomorrow, and it's heartbreaking and devastating that sometimes there isn't. My beloved husband is a truly wonderful story-teller (talking), and I'm the better writer, so together, we're going to fill this book out for his Mom (He tells the story, I'm composing it in writing with him, and he's handwriting it in the book). I know it sounds like quite a process, but it is working well for us. It's something she would never expect from him in a million years, and I am so thrilled about giving it to her. I love the questions, the space you're given to write the answers, and especially how you can make this a one-of-a-kind gift. It will never mean the same thing to the same person, because the giver personalizes it in such a way. There are so many books out there that you give to someone else so that 'they' can fill it out and give it back to you, but this is so special in that you are able to let someone you love know things that they might never think to ask. I love it so much. Please do consider this for purchase. I will never regret it, and I don't think you will, either. There are many things in here that you'll realize you really do want her to know, and never would have thought of. I'm so happy with it!

The quality of this book is so much better than I antipcated. The paper is nice and thick. The printing is beautiful and elegant. Each question is on its own page and some even have a full spread to write your answers. There are special mom quotes on pages throughout the book. The questions are thoughtful and creative.I bought two copies of this book, one for me and one for my sister after our mother passed away. I wish I could share these things with her, but it will be perfect as a personal memory book as well. I'm sure this will melt the hearts of many mothers. I definitely recommend purchasing!

Ordered this as a more personal gift for my mother's 45th birthday. It did take quite a while to complete every question - there are fifty responses, and some of the questions are a bit repetitive, have more space than I feel the question warranted, can be hard to recall on the spot, etc - and thus it took me roughly 2 weeks to complete. However, the book is a great exercise in exploring your history with your best and oldest friend, your mother. My mom has only read a small portion of it so far, but it made her cry immediately and she has told me it is the best gift she has ever received. I can't wait for her to read more of it and to talk about it with her. It is a gift that speaks beyond what is written on the page and will be a lasting, touching treasure for both the giver and receiver.My only complaint was that upon delivery, the book had multiple pages in the middle that were creased for some strange reason. Didn't detract from the overall gift, but I was disappointed in this slight flaw. Otherwise, a wonderful book and would recommend for any daughter who wishes she could let her mother know just how much she loves her!

If you ever wanted to be the best daughter or son ever, get this book now and work on it for Mother's Day. This books is 50 little prompts then you write in your thoughts, memories, perspectives, humor, whatever. Most have two small pages to fill in, but some have only one page. You can make it easier by passing it around with your siblings and not putting the whole burden of filling it out by yourself.My sister and I split it up and both filled in one page of the two page questions, and split up the one page questions evenly. I assigned myself 4 questions a night and got through it pretty fast. I'm pretty anal about planning things out so I made sure I covered a variety of topics and memories when I filled out my questions (the questions can be broader and bent different ways). My husband and his brothers filled one out for their mom too, but didn't worry about filling each page up completely or filling it out evenly between the three of them.I am absolutely not a "journaler" in my regular life and pretty much hate forcing myself to sit down and write. However, I'd say doing some concentrated reflecting on my childhood and my relationship with my mom didn't seem like a chore when I got into it and I was surprised how one memory jogged another I had not thought about in decades. I also allowed myself to create lists down the page instead of requiring every entry in paragraph style.Definitely a cry gift and both of our mothers felt it was "the best gift they ever received on Mother's Day"! It was cool how, when filled out by siblings, each person has their own complementary perspective on the same events or how the same question can trigger different responses. I really enjoyed reading my sister's responses to the questions. Definitely worth the ~$12 and work to fill it out!

She loved this book. Its not only an amazing gift for your mom but its also a really great way to go through things with her and create new memories with her. Its a great way to tell her things you regret, things you love, the little moments that she may have forgotten but have stuck out to you. Its a really sentimental gift.

This was overall a good book but it is VERY long. Most people mentioned this before, but it takes a really long time to complete, so dedicate at least 2-3 weeks to get this finished before you plan to give it as a gift. My mom loved it and it's a very nice gesture but keep in mind it is really long and pretty repetitive. There's definitely some things that I had no idea how to answer - for example, if your mom was a catch phrase, what would it be? What are her biggest quirks? etc. I felt like there could have been other questions that were better rather than some of these random ones and others basically repeated itself just asking the same question in a different way Overall, I know my mom loved it and it's very meaningful but pretty hard to complete

Love this. My younger sister and I both filled it out. It's a great way to reflect on our mother and have a few laughs and tears over memories growing up and how we feel of our mother. Can't wait to give it to her for xmas

Für meine Mama das schönste Geschenk, was ich ihr je gemacht habe, wie sie sagt.Dieses Buch hat meiner Meinung nach ein sehr ansprechendes Design und ausreichend Platz um alle der 50 Fragen zu beantworten.Natürlich muss man in dieses Buch noch sehr viel Arbeit stecken, bevor man es verschenken kann, doch wenn man sich diese Mühe macht, kann es zu einem unbezahlbaren Andenken werden!

This was a really, really great gift.My sister and I both filled it in- lots of laughs, tears & memories shared. We wrote a lot of things that we wouldn't have told her otherwise. You should get it. We had more to say user some headlines than others, but there is room to add more thoughts & comments over time.Just wonderful to give a gift that can be read over and over- sometimes when you need a laugh or a reminder that someone loves you and remembers you.

Will take some time to fill in, so definitely buy it much in advance to be able to get all the little details and memories in it! Very thoughtful gift for a Mother!
