So far, so good!
Excellent aftermarket replacement for non-Bose stereo/CD player in 2008 Mazda MX-5. Great sound and everything works fine todate. Plus added features include HD radio and Bluetooth for Pandora and hands-free calling.

More for your money
Great sound and the hands free phone and BT are nice. The display is a little hard to read.

On the fence...
The Bluetooth skips worse than any CD I ever owned. I tested Pandora via phone with Bluetooth vs. Aux and runs fine on Aux. I run lots of Bluetooth, never seen this problem. But, finally realized this thing can only run one app per, all phones paired. Still figuring this out. Seems to confuse it's self. Undecided at this point.

No mute but I found a fix.
It’s an awesome car stereo, but Kenwood overlooked having a mute button for those annoying commercials. But if you’re tech savvy you can hardwire a mute switch to any Kenwood stereo. What you’ll need is a 10K ohm resistor and a push on / off switch. There’s a brown wire with a mute label on it. Connect one end of the resistor to the brown wire and the other end to one terminal of the switch. Connect the other terminal of the switch to the red wire. (Ignition). That’s it. When the switch is depressed, the display will say “Att” and the audio will be attenuated about -20dB.Switch: Karcy Self Latching Type SPST... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7S1NXY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Would not work right out of the box
System would not turn on. Just black screen no noise. Checked both memory wire, power and ground. Checked fuse on radio too. Removed from car and connected straight to battery and same issue. The cooling loop on the back does get warm. Waited too long to install so now cant replace or return.

not worth the extra money over a basic unit
I had my old Kenwood for over 5 years in 2 different cars, it performed well all that time. Bought this one and was excited about all the upgraded features. only to find out it did not work as well as my old one. CDs skipped, even brand new ones, and ofternshowed an error message. On both CD and USB when on random play, the same songs would repeat every time. Click the button to get a new song, same sequence starts up within a few songs. More letters in the color display is nice, but it's only is good at night or on cloudy days, in the sun its virtually invisible, much dimmer than my old Kenwood which had no color adjustment. With all the audio adjustments this one has over the old one, it doesnt sound any better. In fact ts much more difficult to get it to sound good, the 13 band EQ is overkill for all but the most fanatic audiophiles, and most people will not have a clue how to work it. All in all a very dissappointing purchase, however the seller was quick to handle the return and refund.

Kenwood is still the best.
Bluetooth works great for calls and music, straightforward installation and it looks awesome.

Great product for a great price
Great product for a great price. After 2 months of use, my only 2 complaints are the inability to use the usb connectors as charging outputs only. Secondly, when you connect to usb, the phone automatically connects to my iphone 6 preventing me from controllin Pandora from the phone because the iphone screen shows a black screen with 2 arrows indicating in/out connection with stereo. Despite this, l still think it is a great product full of nice features that my 8 year old $550 Pioneer was lacking.
