Therm-a-RestTrekker Chair Kit

I ordered the 20 inch and I didn't want to use it with my inflatable pad since I don't wanna pop it. Since I always carry a closed cell pad to put under my inflatable I tried it this way. It works great, super comfortable and everything stays in place and my air mattress stays safe inside my tent away from sharp sticks, embers, etc. Plus, I still have access to anything left in my pack. If you carry a full sized closed cell or even just a sit pad I'd highly recommend doing it this way instead of risking a puncture on your air mattress.

I use this with my thermarest sleeping pad for a seat in my tent and it works great. Light enough to back pack with. Easy to set up.

If you are too old to sit around remote camps without back support, yet don’t want to be a pack mule and bring an additional chair, and you use a Thermarest mattress anyway, this is THE ticket to happiness.

I bought this because it is very lightweight and easily packable for kayak camping. It was a nice luxury because it allowed me to sit comfortably in my 1-man tent. I particularly liked the fact that it made use of the inflatable mattress I already had instead of adding its own padding. I’m a 130-pound 5’4” woman and I fit it very comfortably, and it felt sturdy when I leaned my weight into it. I don’t think it would have been as comfortable if I were a big guy.

I've always had good experiences with Amazon. So on a good note, I received this product in a timely manner, and it is a clever idea. However, much to my disappointment, it was only the sleeve. I looked back on the description, and (at the bottom), did see that the mattress was not included. So yes, that was overlooked on my part. But this is very misleading. The product itself (sleeve) looks to be worth about $20.00 or less. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars and did not send back was because I already had a different brand mattress that fit. Thank goodness I ordered the larger size..."chair kit?" If you don't mind paying over $50.00 for a "sleeve", then go for it. Hopefully it won't rip. Otherwise, don't let the nice picture and video deceive you. I learned a lesson...to pay closer attention to the fine print.

Since upgrading to the super-comfy NeoAir pad several years ago I've been missing the convenience of a light and simple chair kit that so effectively converted my older thinner ThermaRest pad to a comfy camp chair. After trying several different solutions, none of them were as convenient, lightweight, and effectie as the ThermaRest chair kit I loved. This one works great with the NeoAir pad and makes the most comfortable camp chair yet. And for all the haters out there who thought this came with a pad--do some research--a $30 chair kit isn't going to include a $200 sleeping pad--get over it.

If you want your thermorest to pull double duty and work as a comfortable ground chair option, then this is the obvious choice. As someone who is used to years of sitting in crazy-creek chairs at concerts and festivals, I can say this it a huge step up from that! If you're sore from the trail you might make a fool of yourself getting up off the ground, but it's definitely a comfortable and super lightweight choice when comparing it to a separate chair.

Disappointed that it wasn't made clear that the mattress was not included with the chair. Unfortunately, since I won't be able to use it at my retreat this weekend, I don't have any option except for returning this. Looking at the other 1-star reviews, there is a lot more they need to do to educate customers on what is needed.
