Amigurumi: Animal Friends Paperback – February 5, 2010

I am not a amigurumi fan, yet these designs are cute and the first I've been tempted to try. I felt the cost was greater that the book...which is more of a booklet. Other than that, pics and instructions seem clear and straight forward and I will give them a try. A bonus was the little accessories some of the figures wear which opens the way for individualizing and undertaking little personal touches.

I knitted my first toy and it turned out adorable! The instructions are really simple to follow and I only wish there were more animals to choose from. Like another reviewer mentioned, it was good to find a book (booklet really) that contained knitting instructions rather than crocheting. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves cute, adorable toys.

This book is as described. Good clear photographs of the completed projects, and clear written instructions. It was thinner than I was expecting hence the 4 star rating instead of 5. I would recommend it to anyone looking for such knitting patters.

This book is good in that it gives you the most basic way of creating the animals, allowing much room for improvement and improvisation. I've completed the owl so far, and ended up adapting the pattern to be knit in the round to avoid ugly seams, and ended up crocheting the eyes instead of the funky knitting instructions, because they look so much better that way and its actually much quicker.

Amigurumi: Animal Friends Finally, a book whose directions work out just as pictured. Also, I would rather knit than crochet. I imagine the little clothes will be fun to make this winter. I have made the owl and scarf, and it is the first animal my grandchildren choose to play with out of all the Amigurumi I have made so far.

This is one of the only amigurumi books i have found so far that is knitted amigurumi rather than crochet amigurumis and i wish there were more like it .It's easy to do if you know how to do the knitting basics .So far i have done a squirrel and the cat and both looked adorable .Im going to be giving them as christmas presents .

I thought this was a crochet pattern book I can sort of knit and have looked at the patterns and they look fun so I will donate the book to a nursing home

This is a great book. The knitted animals are adorable and very easy to make. It is fun to make them in between larger projects for a break. The instructions are easy to follow. I have made 4 bears 2 chickens and a very cute frog. I cant wait to make the pink pig.

Lovely little booklet containing 9 animal patterns and 4 clothes patterns - scarf, skirt, sweater and a hat. As I cannot crochet very well, this knitting book is the perfect alternative to create some seriously adorable amigurumi.I have to say that the patterns are very similar to each other - each animal is composed by a round head and a round body, but I am willing to overlook this as the end result is super cute. On the same point, it is a good thing that they are all the same size, as that means unlimited options to create outfits and clothes that fit all of them!Things are knitted flat as per the instructions, with a seam in the back. Super easy instructions and things turn out exactly as they look in the pictures!Perfect for knitting novices, kids and anyone who loves a cute toy. I will be making quite a few of those and give away as presents.

I love this the instructions are easy to follow and you can make adorable items. Use the colours that you want or follow the colours in the book and you will soon be making creatures that everyone will love and want. So far I have made the kitten and the teddy both are easy to make and look so cute. You really can't go wrong with this book all the instructions are there from what you will need down to how to create your favourite animal.

Perfect little book colorful clear pictures because I can't crochet for the life of me but always wanted to do this amigurumi .......well I could only knit and didn't think you could knit amigurumi glad I was proved wrong so easy when you know how and this book gives you how .....now Michelle Wilcox please bring out a second one on larger animals etc

this book gives clear instructions for the knitted animals,there are coloured pictures of all the finished animals,which can help in placing things like ears and features,the animals are small,ideal for young children,[remember to stitch the owl and squirrel eyes on instead of using glass eyes]nicely set out book

I love amigurumi and really wanted to have a go but I don't crochet, I am a knitter. This is a great little book. Each animal is basically the same, with different ears/eyes etc for each that make it look different. Very simple :-)
