Taylor Thermometers 9848EFDA Digital Thermometer, Long-Stem, Dual-Scale

I was expecting the worst with stock photos and undiscriptive reviews. To my suprise, not chintzy at all. The tip narrows down for the last 1/2” or so to a sharp skewer that is great for the grilled meats. The quality is far above what you would expect for a kitchen tool and on par with an industrial tool. My only complaint is the backlight only lights for like 10 seconds. I used it for my instant hot water supply and found it could stabilize from 72° to 177° in about 10 seconds. My annalog took nearly 30 seconds to do the same without the accuracy.

I had the red "weekend warrior" version and I really liked it but the battery compartment door broke. I bought this one thinking it was was the same but a different color, but I was wrong. This one is a professional grade thermometer. Bigger, much more robust. Back-light is bright and the display is easy to read. It's a very sturdy and quick responding thermometer. I expect this one to last many years.

After a couple of times of taking the battery cover off the seal that is inside gets loose.

It is what it says it is. Use it for whatever you need to use it for.

I have been using this Taylor Digital Thermometer for years now. I bought this newer one for my son. They are the best and most dependable Digital Thermometers on the market today. I recommend everyone who cooks and grills to have one of these.

Used it for less than a month and then it’s broken just stopped working. Not worth the money

This thermo works great. Takes a little time to get a reading but it is accurate. I love the size and the lighted display. However, once the battery is dead. Throw it away! The battery is removable but not replaceable.
