I tried the regular gray duct tape but the hold was not as good, the tape tends to have to be replaced ...
Here are some must knows for this product to successfully use it.1.) You need some strong holding duct tape. This will be needed to placed on certain parts of the hose that you may see a little dripping from periodically. I use the strongest holding duct tape available I got it from Family Dollar. It has a black shiny outside, and gray inside sticky part for the tape. I tried the regular gray duct tape but the hold was not as good, the tape tends to have to be replaced more when its the regular duct tape.2.) Some people say they use mop buckets, however the only way to use this successfully without water flying everywhere is to use a trash can that's not to tall, and not too short. I need to tape the hose with 3-4 medium/long pieces of STRONG DUCT TAPE so the hose won't fall off. I got the trash can from Walmart.3.) I got some heavy duty gray foam floor mats from Home Depot to put on floor to protect kitchen floor from water stains. They look like puzzle pieces. This is the best!!!!!!!!! I'm still learning how to use this Product, but it makes doing hair so easy out of my home salon. THe KEY to using this shampoo station is to have some STRONG HOLDING TAPE to secure the hose on the trash bucket or whatever you desire. Make sure it's tall enough to hold enough water, but not taller than the top stem of your pole that connects to the bowl.I hope this help!!!!

You probably will want to purchase "Neck Eez" by Betty ...
You probably will want to purchase "Neck Eez" by Betty Dain. That adds comfort and neck stability. Be sure NOT to unscrew the steel clamp, because it will never screw back together as it needs to be. I made this mistake and had to go to Lowes and purchase a 3/4" to 1-1/2" stainless steel clamp #16. Reviews with low ratings mention drainage issues, and I am sure it is because lack of experience with this type of clamp; there is a learning curve. First, the clamp that comes with the product is somewhat low quality. (This probably keeps the price of the product down.)Put the clamp over the end of the hose that is soft and pliable, not the end that is made of a harder-type plastic and has a hook-type thingy. Then, slide the hose, with the clamp on the outside, up on the drain post. Push the hose up as far as it will go. Then push the clamp about halfway up. With the appropriate screwdriver, tighten. I used a tiny electric screwdriver, so I was able to get it quite tight. But if that is not available, ask someone who has strong hands to give it an extra tightening. This purchase was for the ease of doing my 3-year-old granddaughter's hair without having to put her in the tub. We went through the process without any crying or fussing with this basin. I wish the pole would stay inside the five-pronged base while moving. But this fix would probably up the price by at least $50.00, so I can deal with this slight inconvenience.

Worked amazingly
My wife used this product when she was doing a couple clients out of out basement while she was searching for another shop. It worked out great for her at the time. Base was solid enough for every day use and drained pretty well. Now even though she has her own suit she still keeps it in storage just in case.

There has to be a better way to drain the water
With salons closing on and off it's nice to have a shampoo bowl again. As a cosmetologist of 27 years, I'd say I have plenty of experience with a shampoo bowl. I purposefully bought a barber chair so I can recline to shampoo and rinse the hair, along with everything needed to use the chair for. This bowl is difficult to position a client in for one, despite adjustable height and tilt. It would be a better design to have the opening wider because it's not a one size fits all lip on the bowl, especially if tall. The biggest inconvenience is having to put the tube into a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket, and half way through it floats and pops out, an unfortunately onto my floor by the time I turn off the water an grab the hose. If it had some type of weight on it, or a more successful way to drain it directly in the sink with more success. I've tried putting it in the drain in my sink but it doesn't drain quick enough because it's going upwards. It's still better than having your client put their head face first in the kitchen sink. If you've had better luck, please share tricks. Thank you to the one who suggested the Home Depot bucket because I had a heads up to begin with.

Worked great
I ordered this product for my parents house. I can see where people's expectations can be to high. This is not a replacement for a shampoo bowl like the salon. You can not lean back with out it adjusted right. But it worked amazing for my mom.She is home bound and we had her sit in her wheel chair and brought it to her and adjusted it to the wheel chair.Tips1. Use tools to tighten everything. You will need a flat head screwdriver, a Philips screw driver, and either two wrenches or a two pliers. And tighten everything.2. Adjust the bowl to the person.3. Use a towel behind the neck to cushion and help prevent water.4. Make sure you keep track of the drain hose. (I didn't and had to mop the floor)5. We drained into a mop bucket maybe a 7 gallon bucket.... And it was the perfect size to catch all the water6 if your kitchen/bathroom sink is higher than the shampoo bowl it will not drain into the sink. Basic physics.

Hazardous
Client had to go to chiropractor after trying to make this work through a treatment. This product is not adjustable to fit with all reclining wash chairs. We tried to make it work. Return now says if it is used they may not refund the money - how do you know it doesn't work if you don't try using it - ridiculous!
