Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams Hardcover – August 22, 2017

I’m a fan of Dior, and I’m very pleased with this purchase. Beautiful book chronicling Dior life, original work, designs, and continued work of the brand.

Everyone in the fashion world talked about going to Paris to see the show, I could not go, but wanted to see what the " Absolutely Fantastic Show" was about, so I got the book. It is superb, and one of the best book written on the House od Dior, it includes creations from Christian Dior himself, Yves St. Laurent, Gianfranco Ferre, to everyone who has designed for Dior. To date, this is defenitely one of the best Dior books I have bought.

I bought this for my sister, and I'm glad. This particular version focuses on the beauty of the clothes up-close, usually without models. One of the other recent versions published mainly showed off-runway models backstage being fitted, and we really wanted to gasp at the beautiful dresses alone. This one is more "art" and less history.

Did not show enough of YSL’s work at Dior.Huge gaps of important designs missing.

I saw this exhibit in Paris and the book is a way to keep that research at hand for my work and for my students. It is gorgeous and informative.
