I've been building a wall in my yard and in Jersey it gets into the constant mid 90s in the summer. A baseball cap does not protect my nose and ears and i'm not one to wear sun block. So i wish there was something like this... i Searched Amazon and sure enough someone already invented it!!. For the sun, this was great. it's very wide and covered my head and arms so they wouldn't get sub burned. For the rain, it worked the same... it prevented me from getting wet and i was able to continue doing outside work. My only complain is the way the chin strap works. on the very first time i used it, the spring loaded clip fell into the grass and i never saw it again. 1, this clip should be white. i could not find it. Second it didn't really stay tight, which is why it fell. a bit of wind came, picked up the hat and the clip fell. Since then it's hard to work outside with it with the slightest breeze... it always comes off my head!!. I have to constantly hold the strap with my hand to prevent it from coming out. I like mowing the grass with it while i sit on the tractor since it provide shape, but the movement of the tractor knocks the umbrella off my head. So i gave it 4 stars because it works, it collapses easily down to a small umbrella.. the head piece is adjustable for different heads and when it's on, it stays snug in the head, but the strap is my only complaint. Also watch out for wires. at times the tips come out and i can see someone being easily injured by the wires... they are hard to see since they are thin and black. Always make sure all the tips are in place, maybe even super glue them down.

Big, lightweight, comfortable. With any amount of wind I found it was impossible to keep it on my head even with knotting the chin strap tight and holding on with one hand, but with no wind it’s fantastic. I’ll be using it when gardening.

I bought this for my mother to use watering her plants and doing yard work. I really like the design and it works well. The button to release/close the umbrella needs to be redesigned. It is very sharp and injured my mother. Closing the umbrella is very difficult because it requires strength and the button is very sharp.

Ok, do I get a few stares, smiles, backward glances, and giggles as people pass me - yes. But, I love this thing SO MUCH so that I am ordering a couple more before I can't find them again! I have a sun sensitivity and the coverage is so amazing that I get a few more hours of 'outside' time before the heat gets to me. It is very well made, and quite comfortable, too. The rubber, adjustable band keeps it firmly in place. The sturdy, adjustable chin strap keeps it steady in a decent breeze. It is very easy to pop up and collapse, as well. I have used much inferior, smaller, and VERY uncomfortable versions for years - I had to wear them over a baseball cap they were so painful to wear. This model is the Lamborghini of the yugo crowd!! I L O V E it!!!

Do not buy this unless you have very strong fingers. I had a hard time pulling the cord to open it and I could not push in the button to close it. Very poor system. The umbrella itself seemed okay. The hat was hard to adjust but the opening and closing of the umbrella was beyond difficult.

Bought this as a gift to a garden lover. It’s great that there’s something like this that frees one’s hands for gardening as well as protect you from the harsh sun during summer. The colors also matter on this umbrella because it staves off the heat rather than absorbs it through. Keeps yourself feeling cooler under the sun. It is also wide enough to protect more than your face and neck without being in your face or obstructs your view.

This thing actually exceeded my expectations. As long as you treat it right, it'll treat you right. The fitting is much more secure if you wear a hat. Not only am I dry, but so are important documents I may be carrying. My only gripe is the strap to secure umbrella closed easily broke. I've worn this during thunderstorms with gusts of wind up to 15mph. I don't recommend you do that, but as long as you have some sense it can be done.

I bought this for fishing on the lake as I can not be in the sun for long and it worked perfectly. it is light weight and easy to wear. I purchased the one with the rubber headband. I suggest wearing a baseball cap with the umbrella on top as it seems to be more secure that way. It is not good if there is moderate to strong winds. I looked pretty silly but boy was I comfortable in the melting sun.

I like this creative umbrella hat but it’s a bit unstable on my head.

Pros;* Once it is strapped properly over your head, it stays securely.* A good product on a calm rainy day.* Easy to carry around once folded.Cons;* The cap bands are too hard for my head, and I had to wear a beany hat for protection.* The strap is a very thin and flimsy material.* Don't even think about wearing this on a windy day.* Unfolding and putting it on may take some time and effort.Verdict;* The product is a good idea, but the production was somewhat poorly done.

I use a walker for my walks and if it is raining, I do not have a free hand to hold an umbrella. I thought this would be the answer but the diameter is much too large.
