Where's My Mummy?

Story/Illustrations—Five StarsSize of book—Two starsOverall—Five stars because the book’s reputation shouldn’t be dinged for the formatI checked out the full size version of this book from the library and my preschool class LOVED it so I jumped on Amazon to order my own copy. Hardcover? Check! Add to basket. Never imagined a hardcover book would be the size of your average board book! If it were a board book I would have been thrilled as I love to add those to our free choice classroom library. But this is too small for a whole group read aloud and the great illustrations are diminished in the smaller format even as a lap-read aloud imo. You fooled me Amazon, I thought I was getting a stellar Prime Day deal.

Cute story, but the book itself is physically small. I am a school librarian and I am afraid it will get lost on the shelf being so small. I never thought to check dimensions when ordering. The story is adorable though, geared to K/1.

This is a fabulous book! It's silly and my first graders love it! We do a whole unit based around this story and mummies. ("Are mummies real?" "Well, yes, but they are not monsters that walk around making scary sounds and trying to get you." It sparked a whole 10-day exploration.) We use it for sequencing, dramatic play, character development, onomatopoeia, story structure, grammar, fantasy vs. realism, summarizing and retelling among other things. It's a simple story, the kids get so into it, and I had to buy 2 more copies just to meet the demand in my classroom! I highly recommend it for any first grade classroom!

The story follows little baby mummy who is playing with mama mummy before bedtime. The story is really cute and follows various monsters going about their bedtime routine. A cute and silly story with humorous illustrations. Would recommend!

This book delighted my 8 year old; I only wish I'd had it sooner, because it's the kind of thing kids want to read and reread, and it's so witty and beautifully illustrated that you don't mind going through it multiple times. Should be in every library!

I bought this book based on all the good reviews but feel totally misled. This book stinks. Dull story with lame ending. Can't believe anyone would like this book. Hard pass.

This is my kids’ favorite book. I found a paperback copy for a quarter at a used book store years ago, and it’s gotten so much use I had to repurchase it on here. It’s definitely a family favorite- soooo cute.The book came in excellent condition.

I love this story. I wasn't familiar with this book until I came across it on Youtube! My son wanted to hear it over and over and so we purchased it. It's a great read for toddlers and the book came in good condition.

A lovely little story perfect for younger readers. Bought for my seven year old & she loves it.but my eleven year old twins sat with us a we read it together & they enjoyed it too
