TRANSONPaint Storage Palette Box 24 Wells Airtight Stay Wet for Watercolor, Gouache, Acrylic and Oil Paint

I love it! It is so tiny! And it has so many pocket slots! Naturally, it's going to be a little difficult to clean. It cannot be tipped or tilted at all, or the colors mix. Does not retain paint division. The paints don't dry out, but the seal could be better.

I've had no problems with this product but I've seen other people say that it's not good at keeping the paint contained within the container which personally I have not experienced but I am assuming it's because I don't carry it around in my bag (?)

This palette box is a great space and weight saver for plein air painting. However over time, the silicone lid seal will swell from contact with oil paints and exposure to brush solvents. When the seal swells, the lid can't be locked shut. I've found there is a DIY fix: purchase a small sheet of 1/16 inch cork-rubber gasket material and cut a new seal for the lid. Unlike silicone, automotive gasket material won't swell and the sealing problem is fixed. Also, you can use an oscillating multi-tool 3/8" plunge saw blade to cut out some of the partitions for bigger paint wells. After the upgrade, the box is a great travel accessory. I find I can bring a second box and still be better off than wrangling tubes of paint.

I thought it would be a bit bigger, but it’s smaller than it looks. It was also missing the “ring”. The corners are hard to wipe.

I've been using one of these for my gouache paints for a few years now. I just squeeze some gouache paint from their tubes into these wells, and add just a tiny bit of water and mix with a toothpick to a slightly melted ice cream consistency to paint with. and I spray the paints down with a water mister bottle every now and then if they seem to be getting too thick or dry. It has kept my paints fresh and protected for up to a year with minimal leaking or messes. I've seen some fellow artists get mold growing in their palettes/paints, but I've yet to have that happen to mine. I ended up ordering another one of these palettes after a couple of years just to have a nice new clean one, but my old one still works well, just a pain to fully clean out.
