A NON-SPOILER REVIEW
**NON-SPOILER REVIEW**I absolutely loved this series. I blew through all four books in only 2 days - I couldn't put it down. It had all the main attributes that I love in a good fantasy romance... dark themes, tons of tension, a fated mate concept... but it is entirely unique. So many romantasies these days seem to just borrow from each other and blend together, but this series is something all on its own while holding on to the main things I love. The first book starts you off right in the middle of action and I was immediately sucked in. I have read other series that have also done this and found myself frustrated by it, but for this series it worked wonderfully. Right away, I just NEEDED to know what was going on. Everything throughout the series moves along quickly so it keeps you on your toes the whole way, but nothing is under-developed despite the fast pace. The main character is likeable and all of the emotion is written beautifully. I will say that I had many of the twists figured out prior to when they were revealed, but this actually didn't ruin it for me. And there were also a handful of things that I wasn't able to predict.A couple other reviews have given lower ratings for book 1 due to being confused or feeling like certain things weren't fully fleshed out... but that's how it goes in any series. You're not going to have all the answers in the first book, otherwise there would be no point to the books that come after it.Of course, no book is 100% perfect and there were some cons. These books need a good round of editing. They are riddled with grammatical errors. While that was a bit annoying, the story was good enough that it didn't ruin it for me. But if you're a person who is easily pulled out of a story by this, you'll likely have trouble getting through it.There is also a character who disappears at one point and is just never mentioned again. This is the ONE thing that drove me absolutely nuts about this series. By the end, all other plot points and questions were neatly wrapped up, but this character was just completely left out- despite the fact that he held a good bit of significance in earlier parts of the story. I can't figure out if the author's intention was that this character just didn't truly matter in the end, or if maybe it was purposely left as an opportunity for a spin-off series. This is neither a pro nor con, just something to mention as I have not seen any other author do this: The author sprinkled a bunch of music throughout these books. Songs are mentioned that the main character thinks of or listens to, and in the kindle version, there are even links to songs/playlists at the beginning of some of the chapters. Some may find this strange or annoying, while some may love it. I personally don't have a strong opinion on it either way. I found it unnecessary, so I just ignored it. It didn't add to or take away from anything for me.Overall, I really loved this series. I read the Kindle versions and then bought the physical copies for my shelf when I finished. I also recommended it to a friend, and she was immediately sucked in just like I was. These will be a definite re-read for me, and I hope the author releases more books in the future. I will snatch them up.

Best series I've read aside from Outlander
This author doesn't get the recognition that she deserves! I read this whole series in roughly three days. Did I eat? Not really. Sleep was irrelevant, but this series yanked me out of the deep and dark rut that Outlander has perpetually thrown me into while I wait for the next book. Everyone talks up SJM and ACORAT series, but in my honest opinion...this series blew that one out of the freaking water and into the next realm. The first book was good, even though I was not shipping the LI, I still devoured it. The second book and beyond are absolutely amazing. This series is a little dark, but the main LI is morally grey, would burn the world down to save her, and best of all Violet is a freaking badass-which is completely refreshing. I loved this series and will keep coming back to re-read it for every slump I find myself in.

Was there a single “not hot” person in this book? No-
I don’t usually leave poor reviews, because this is someone’s work, and I don’t want to make anyone feel bad. But I struggled with this one. I’ve read much worse books, but this one didn’t quite make the mark.Things I liked about this book:- the age setting was 30’s, I don’t like books where the heroine is 17. She did good by making them a little older.- there was some comedy relief here and there.- the plot was cool. There was a lot of potential, but definitely needed more.- I liked the perpetual lightning storm.Things I didn’t care for:-lack of world building. It was a bunch of doors and forests, tunnels, bathrooms, and clothing descriptions. I had to skim through paragraphs to avoid reading about how perfect an outfit was and how expensive it was.- the aggressive male lead. It was very Stockholm Syndrome-y. Like he punches me and abuses but I have fallen in love with him bc he’s hot and we are connected. His justification of it all wasn’t enough. I had secretly hoped she would remember how much she hates him and fall in love with the dark prince. There was no explanation for why Elijah disappeared for 1000 years, unless I missed that... where did he go? And also how did he find out he was bonded to her? Why did it take so long for them to meet? How long was she gone for? A lot was left unexplained. The wedding ring she found in the beginning. What was the significance of it?- I didn’t care for how hot everyone was. Like seriously every single person had abs and was beautiful. And the club scene may have been the worst of it all. Everyone was so hot and the fatale girls undressed her on the spot... it was odd. Where did Elijah go? We never found that out. He went behind curtains and didn’t hear the dragon busting through the roof? He just shows up and tries to have sex with her in an alley after he aggressively strongholds her and bruises her lips with a kiss. I don’t know, I just didn’t buy it.- there were lots of little side plots that never finished. Like Daphne and G, where did they go? Granted maybe that’s explained in the next book. Or why was that girl blushing naked in the room with the servant? There was a story there but the author never told us. What happened to her guardian? He disappeared... And Adriel? And the Oracle? Lots of questions that make me want to read the next book just to put my mind at ease, but probably could have been covered a bit more thoroughly.I don’t like bashing authors, I think there was potential here, these are just things I took away from the book.

Utterly bewildering! Yet as soon as I had read the last line I leapt onto getting book 2...
I am overwhelmingly confsed and bewildered by this book (book 1 of 4 in this series)... yet as soon as I had read the last line I leapt onto getting book 2.. had a quite severe argument with my WiFi and Kindle unlimited to do so, ending with me getting my partner up to sort it out (he is the master of anything with a plug, the rest is mine lol). I only briefly stopped to update GoodReads so I don't forget what I read/have read.So... it must be good?? *rocks a bit and giggles to herself*I just need it clarified dammit, and also for there to be several spin off books about other chacters, 'G' for example and the Femme Fatals! Maybe the haitian wicca woman, possibly her manservant too ahem.

Surprise ending!
I don’t normally write reviews for books, as I read about one a day.But I felt obliged to write a quick one here due to the ending..what a good cliffhanger! Not many books have an ending that make me exclaim out loud in surprise, but this one did. Also, there were a lot of red herrings in the book which kept on leading me to make fake assumptions like a know it all. I love that an author can surprise me. I also like the burn and the characters. Good stuff.Good job T.M Hart - and thank you.

BRILLIANT
Oh my GOSH! I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book! I read the entire series in 1 week. Couldn’t even sleep I was so excited to keep reading. I am honestly shocked this little gem of a book series isn’t massively popular. It deserves to be!! I’m so grateful I discovered this book by accident and I’m actually sad it’s over! Go binge read all 4 books immediately. Characters are great, storyline is great, the writing is great, level of steamy-ness is really great. 100% worth a read!

Shadow's Kiss
I wasn't quite sure about this book when I first started, but by around 50% through I was getting more and more intrigued. By that cliffhanger? I'm officially hooked.Cannot wait to dive into book 2.

SHADOW'S KISS
A brilliant start to a series, love the story and all the characters, it's quite dark but in a god way because of course we have the light as well, need to read the next book to see what happens
