Size:Rocker This piece is hand cut from recycled 50 gallon steel drums. Both ends of the drum are removed and placed inside of the remaining cylinder along with scrap paper, dried banana or sugar cane leaves. It is set on fire, to burn off any paint or residue. When cooled, the drum is cut down the side and flattened out to create a "metal canvas" of approximately 3' x 6', upon which the design is drawn. Using hammer, chisel and various primitive tools, the shape is cut and the various decorative patterns are pounded into the metal, creating a unique and treasured piece of primitive art. The finished design is coated with a protective finish. Can be hung indoors or outdoors.

Fabulous and serves a good cause
I was just looking to replace the old corroded metal outlet cover in my bathroom. I was shocked at how much it cost to get something a little nicer that would not corrode. Then I stumbled onto this. These outlet covers and switch plates are truly beautiful! They are hand-worked pieces of art. To top off how lovely this outlet cover is, by buying it I am supporting a community that desperately needs the money and the earth by recycling the oil drum it came from. What could beat that?

Unfortunately I can't use it, as it doesn't cover the utility box. But the craftsmanship is beautiful, I really wish I could have used it!

Big and nice
I purchased this outlet cover. I enjoy the fact it is made from basically recycled material. It did not fit, my husband filed it in the areas that were not large enough. It is not flush to the wall which I have a neighbor who can soften the metal and tweak it for me. So yes it is great but be mindful to make sure the room is there for this outlet cover and understand it will probably come with challenges to master.

I love this plate!It's wide so it cannot go near angles, and the upper right is maybe 5 millimeters from the corner of the humdrum rectangular one I had, so on an angle, one can see a slight cut out hole in the sheet rock.It's just fun and whimsical!
