Visible lead, good freedom for your dog
Great lead, works well the extra 2mtr length helps a lot giving your dog more freedom but you have control, great if your dog has high prey drive or can be difficult with some other dogs, can see the lead from a good distance away, helps the good dog owners see in advance and they can get there dogs back on lead promptly, a great lead, very slightly heavier than the 8mtr, but you don't really notice this. Only down side is no dedicated poo bad holder location, but you can just clip one on the handle. Locking mechanism is good and seems strong

Excellent - and you can extend with a harness with seat belt attachment (when away from traffic)
Excellent lead - and you can use a harness with a dog seat belt attachment for even more length, when you are away from trafficVersion bought: flexi Giant Professional L Tape 10 m black/ neon yellow [10 meter version]This is an excellent durable lead, though the "flexi Giant Professional L Tape 10 meter" is rather large and heavy at 890 grams on my scales. If that doesn't put you off, then for a dog which cannot be let off a lead, like mine could not, then walks in the countryside, woods or in a park with this 10 meter lead and a harness attached to a dog seat belt attachment - giving a total length of about 11 meters (and a more comfortable experience than a collar connection) - might be the closest thing to true freedom that your dog can feel.Given that the "L Tape 10 m" lead is quite large, heavy and expensive, particularly at or near its full price, I would imagine that the less expensive 8 meter versions - "Medium" or "L Tape 8 m" depending on whether the dog is under 25kg or under 50kg - together with the harness and dog seat belt attachment, should also offer a very good experience, and are no more expensive than many other 8 meter leads when on offer. Some of those other 8 meter leads might seem like better value for money, but often don't perform as well or last nearly as long, so are actually a false economy compared to these flexi leads. (The "Extra Large" 8 meter lead for dogs up to 75kg is also quite expensive, but so might it's competitors be for that weight category.) But this 10 meter one really would be my choice for offering ultimate freedom for dogs up to 50kg, especially if it's on offer and you don't mind the size and weight. For me personally, it might have felt like a hit in the pocket when I clicked on the "Buy" button, but it was sooo worth it - as I think that my dog experienced years of extra freedom from that additional 2 meters of length, long after I'd forgotton about that one-time expense.I found this lead to be strong, sturdy and easy to operate, with an intuitive and reliable locking/unlocking mechanism. It was easily able to manage being pulled on by my 25kg-30kg dog for years of use.A couple more points: I would not recommend using an extendable lead like this with a harness and seat belt attachment if you are going to be walking along the street or near traffic - as that extra meter or so is non-retractable and your dog could dart out unexpectedly. (The beach might also be more awkward if there are many other dogs around and not much space.) You can, of course, attach it to your dog's collar for those occasions. However, I'd recommend getting another shorter lead, such as a 5 meter extendable lead, for shorter walks where the intention isn't to exercise your dog, given that this lead (the 10 meter version) is somewhat large and heavy. Personally, I can highly recommend the Cool Bud "smartelf Retractable Dog Leash Heavy Duty Walking Lead for Small Medium Large Dogs Up to 110lbs" [50kg] here on Amazon, as these two - along with a sturdy short chain-link lead - were my leads and I was very happy with all of them.

Great piece of dog gear!
The only 10m retractable lead I have managed to find on the market with a reasonable price point. It is quite heavy, but feels robust and if the lead is extended you will not be carrying around much of the weight of it anyway. I'd rather carry around a bit of weight than juggle a soggy, muddy longline. The neon tape is a nice addition as it is more visible in the dark and in general. Have had quite a few people be wary because they thought my dog was offlead as the cord version of the flexi is practically invisible in the dark.I have seen some reviews stating that the locking mechanism isn't great but I actually find it much easier to lock than the standard flexi leads with the lock that looks like a "slider". No issue with locking whilst the lead is extending. Also saw a review of the lead snapping whilst the dog was near a road. Now whilst the lead snapping may be a product fault it is very irresponsible to use retractable leads near roads regardless. It is a tool that should not be used on reactive, lunging or heavy pulling dogs and used in quiet areas.I'm not a fan of the fact that the lead is exposed in the front as it may get dirtier much easier, but this doesn't affect the function.

Lana is 22kg and when looking for a new lead I was expecting a 25kg lead to be enough but after some research it turns out a 25k
Amazon yet again have delivered, I received these on the same day as I ordered, delivery was by prime and as always very efficient. To the product:-After my Briard has gotten bigger faster than expected, strangely my old lead snapped dispite her being 22kg and the lead being rated at 25kg. A new one was needed.Lana is 22kg and when looking for a new lead I was expecting a 25kg lead to be enough but after some research it turns out a 25kg lead is rated like that for a "normal" active dog (See attached picture), so no pulling or bouncing around. But as a 17 week old puppy you try telling that to her. So I went for the mother of all leads, this one.Once i had it out of the packaging I realised very quickly that this thing is truly professional. Theres three things behind this thinking:-1) The handle - The feel of it is exactly like that of Flexi but you grip is thicker. This gives means when you doggy decides to use all of the lead then yank, your grip is not compromised and helps soften the jolt. I would however say that with the extra weight of the lead it is a lot jolt is more extreme than with say a 5m lead.2) The size - Yes its bigger, but what do you expect when it has a 10m tape. the wight is more than manageable and you have to remeber that weight will not always be on your hand as your dog will be using the lead.3) The Tape - its far strong than anything else I've experienced. Even with Lana chewing on it on the odd occasion its shown no sign of wear compared to the old lead. The bright yellow tape is one of the best features, I've found this more than handy when she gets wrapped up in it. The black tape was terrible as its the same colour as her and I had no idea where it was going!Yes its a bit of a head turner with the size and the different styling to ordinary lead however i can vouch for this being the best i've ever owned. If I ever get through this one I will have no problems buying another hopefully identical lead. The only problem I can fault this for is the fact you cant use the mutibox system for poo bags, but as i buy the amazon basics one its comes with a dispenser that attaches to the handle of the lead. Not as neat but I'd much prefer a great lead. All in all an amazing product.
