Brilliant. Expensive but no installation needed which works well in a rented house. Can b moved quickly to other doors as needed.I use it to keep my senior cat in different spaces as needed. It leaves a gap that is just small enough for her to not squeeze through. I use mine on the top of my door so that my clothes don't get hooked up on it as I pass through, when the door is open. I can also move it closer to the hinges end of the door if I wanted a bigger gap for my cat to pass through but not anything bigger (child or dog)

This does not fit my door nor any door I have tried it on. The clip part which "pinches" the actual door is too narrow however, as some other reviewers have indicated, this can be worked around by removing the rubber pad designed to stop the item slipping (as a result it is obviously consequently prone to slipping - this is something I could work around however). The issue for me however is that the claw part (which looks like a coat hanger hook in the product diagram) is too short by around 1 cm to reach the lip on my door to clip it on to. My home is a new-ish build in the UK and standard fittings, have tried to find a door to which this would actually fit with no success. Have returned as not fit for my purpose.

To all that that say they wont fit the wider doors... they do (with a small amount of diy) The bit that goes around the door has two rubber interts that are there (i presume) to protec the door. Remove these and they fit fine around any door. It is a bit of a battle to get them off, but they do come off and the result is great. I have used these on all my doors (new build) and there is no damage scuffing or marks to any of the doors. I would suggest trying one and then you will see... Just ordered a couple more as they are excellent to allow the older children into (the living room for example) but my 1 year old still cannot reach so he is confined to the 'safer' areas of the house. Cant recomend these enough.

If your door is positioned in the corner of a room or next to a return wall this won't work as it hits the wall.I think it is very clever and keeps both child and dog apart without danger to fingers, and it is easy to operate and move about as required, but quite expensive. We just have one and move it as needed.

The looks are flimsy but does the job well! very easy to install/uninstall!

When you have cats who can open door by jumping at the door handles and pulling them down you need something different to keep them in or out of rooms. This clever little device is exactly what was needed. It is simple to attach, a few seconds and it is on and it works a treat. The door is kept open but the gap is too small for cats to get through and they have soon learnt that they can't open the door when it is like this. When placed low enough my boys (7 and 10) know how to use it and put it on or take it off and even my mother in law can work it!! I would recommend this product to anyone for cats, other pets or small children as it works a treat and is very easy to use.

This just about fits the width of our door. It is well worth checking if your doors will be too wide. But if not and it does fit, this is a great little tool that means we can keep our little ones from entering certain rooms without having the door shut, which has been nice with hot weather and windows open to let the air circulate.
