Good grip and very effective
Like my other Global knives, they didn't appreciate hundreds of dishwasher cycles and the previous knife snapped, the metal is very thin and when it started to corrode, got weak enough to snap the blade about 1/4 of the length away from the handle. Don't put Global knives in your dishwasher! The knife is nice to hold and gives good feedback though its well designed handle. The voids in the blade stop cheese from dragging on the knife and makes cutting the toughest cheese a breeze.

It's the holes that make the difference
Bought this as a bit of a luxury and to add to my growing set of Global knives which are all of extremely high quality.My first use on a bit of hard cheddar had me really surprised, the knife glided through almost as if it was a piece of brie. The holes in it reduce friction so you get a very easy cut and far less crumbling. Of course being Global it's razor sharp as well.A great addition to any Global knife rack if you can justify the cost.

Good but not perfect
I'm a long time fan of Global products and in the end my heart ruled by head and I plumped for the GS10. It's just like all other Globals in that it is a quality build and looks great. It cuts cheese and the holes allow the cheese to drop off the knifeThe only slight flaw is that it has a one sided bevelled blade. This means that in hard cheese, especially, it tends to not cut vertically, but can go at an angle, an angle related to the one sided bevel.I like the knife - but perfection was just one design detail away

It's such a fabulous cheese knife. I bought it as a gift for my partner after he waxed lyrical at a friend's house who had the same knife - it feels like a luxurious ritual to get it out for cheese. One thing - it doesn't go in the dishwasher which is slightly annoying.

Awesome knife
Bought this for my son who says it absolutely AWESOME and is looking to get more from Global for his birthday and Christmas. It cuts perfectly and is easily cleaned and looks really cool.
