I'm giving this a five star review, even though I did not use it. It's unfair to knock a product due to it not quite meeting my needs.This rack is extremely well made and sturdy. The coating seems durable.I have decided to buy the more secure box that Hooke sells that is lockable. The seller offers options to resolve any issues, and was extremely quick in replying. I will be doing business's with them again.

If your able to follow pictures better than written instructions, then you might be alright. Leave everything loose at the beginning. One person can install this by themselves. I know this, because I did it this afternoon. Then again I have nearly 30 years of mechanical experience. Having 2 people would be a lot better, and faster, but it can be done by yourself, even with the top still on. If you don't want to remove your carpet, then it will take extra time to find and mark where your bolts need to go and cut the carpet. I simply removed the carpet and plan on doing a bed liner spray in down the road. Now I have twice the space. Since my wife has a 4 door Jeep Wrangler JKU, I will not be missing the back set in my TJ.

I was looking for a shelf for my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland so I could still carry 5 people, carry gear and my little dogs could see out. The ones I saw specifically for my Grand were narrow and had elaborate bracketry that stuck to the plastic with sticky tape. I came across this one for a TJ. The dimensions were right, and I knew I could just put some legs on it to make it work. It surpassed all my expectations. I'm sure someone could come up with fancier legs, but I just used some lag screws with big fender washers, screwed down through the slots, into some 2x4's for the legs. I put in a cushy foam pad wrapped with a throw blanket for my dogs. I strapped it down to the footman loops in the floor. I don't have to fold down any seats or cut the carpet to get to any bolts. It works great for what I wanted it for. I'm very pleased.

I'm very glad that I purchased this. Cargo storage has always been an issue in my 2004 Jeep Wrangler. A TJ is just not built for it. This rack doubled my cargo space in the back and is a lot sturdier than I thought it would be.

Great product! Wish I had purchased this years ago. Must have for overlanding. Easy install. No drilling and only minor mod to the carpet. Good work Hooke Road!
