Nintendo Selects: Paper Mario (Nintendo Wii)

This game is beautiful, the mechanics are unique. You will not have played anything quite like this before. The "existing in two dimensions" thing is not just a gimmick but an intrinsic element.You also get guardian spirits with different powers as you progress and get to play other characters, but I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't read the blurb at the back of the game.Not only is this my favourite platformer, it is on par with Super Mario Galaxy I and II in its ingenuity. This is a completely new game design whilst adopting a visual aesthetic that resembles a retro title (this is stylised to the extreme, as certain elements are draw line by line in game to dazzling effect). The obviously had the best visual artists as well as programmers working on this game.I really like the cute story and dialogue, and may I say that the narrative takes a slant that is slightly darker than many Mario titles.

I haven't finished the game yet but I'm over halfway I think. So far the gameplay is no way near as good as it's predecessor the thousand year door.. however the plot and characters are good as is the dialogue and there are parts which are flat out hilarious.I'm continuing playing more for the story and dialogue rather than the gameplay which is only so so. It's not bad gameplay just not great either. The creativity of the plot and characters is enough to consider a purchase though.

Paper Mario doesn't have the depth of a Zelda game, but it does have lots of cool ideas which makes it fun. One of the best things is the way you can flip the view point from 2D into 3D, which you will need to do for navigating your way around the levels and solving puzzles. Overall Super Paper Mario is a fun quirky adventure game that has plenty of Nintendo magic, but it's a bit easy and isn't as good as Nintendo Selects - Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) or The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo Selects) (Wii).

That this game was reasonably priced and brand new so therefore very very pleased

I brought it after reading on Amazon it was a two player game. It's not, which is a real annoyance as that was the only reason I brought it. Would be nice if the details were accurate in the future.The game itself is good

Average game not worth 5 star expect more off mario games
