Well stocked repair kit
I'm really happy with this kit. It has all the parts and tools needed to replace bad guides on your rod(s). (Lots of extra guides for multiple rod repairs.) The new guides come in many, many sizes and are really smooth inside. There are a large number of replacement tips of all different inside diameters. All the necessary glue and wrappings are also here. The only possibly missing tool is a good, sharp razor blade to remove the old guides. The kits come in two styles, one for spinning rods and one for casting rods... be sure you order the correct kit!Replacing the guides on a rod isn't "rocket science" but takes concentration and a steady hand... Take your time and you'll soon have a set of smooth new guides for your line to flow through!

The materials are very good. Your skill will make the difference.
I needed to replace a cracked guide on an Orvis #8 fly rod and, after lots of scouting around, I bought this kit. Yes, it included everything I needed but the instructions are woefully inadequate. I found the YouTube videos by Epic to be excellent, including #3 which covered replacing a guide. As noted in the photos, I built a mount for the job using a cardboard box. This made a huge difference in the quality of the install because it allowed me to rotate the rod while we applying the thread and, later allowed me to hold the brush still and applying an even layer of epoxy. I was not able to do a real nice job of wrapping the thread but it was adequate. The first coat of epoxy did a good job of covering the threads and I applied a second coat the next day. The photos was taken after two coats of epoxy. The only other comment concerns the viscosity of the epoxy. When first mixed up, it is really quite runny. I applied one even coat over the thread and followed up with more as the epoxy cured and thickened. At this point, 70% of the thread was hidden. There was some sagging but I rotated the rod 180 degrees every 5 minutes and it was set in about 20 minutes. After the second coat I was satisfied with the appearance.

Decent value, but still a cheap kit.
Overall I think this is still fairly decent value, but a few issues with my kit:1. One of the bottles from the 2-part epoxy leaked during shipment. Luckily the other didn't so it never hardened, but it's a mess (not to mention I have less to use).2. The kit shows one black and one multicolor for the thread. Mine came with two multicolor. I was in a pinch so didn't have a choice but to use it and now I've got some unicorn-ification going on with my rod. Not the end of the world, but I have to repair another rod that I care a bit more about so I'll have to buy my own black thread.3. My rod is not particularly large, but the largest tip still wouldn't fit (this is on an old Eagle Claw salmon rod. 8', Med Light action)
