After doing some research and listening to the options online this microphone seemed like the best combination of price and sound quality. Another option was the Fifine K670 if you want to save some money (Also an excellent option but very subtly flatter sound). I thought an online sample of the Blue Snowball also sounded more electronic. Certainly for podcasting or videoconferencing the Meteor will do the job. The sound quality varies with how close it is to your mouth with the richest sound if you are within around 20cm, but perfectly decent sound at arm length. It is very sensitive so will pick up fan noise from a PC. I found when on the desk with my computer the fan noise was transmitted though the desk so it sounds better placed on a piece of foam or other insulation if you don't want to go for a mic boom arm. Also with the included USB lead there was a very slight whine audible on playback which was absent when using shorter, or better quality leads. Seems a bit of an oversight to supply a good quality microphone with suboptimal lead. Fortunately most people are likely to have other Mini USB leads around.The compact size is a bonus if you want to keep the microphone out of view and the quirky look is good. It feels solid and good quality. The legs can apparently be removed if you want to put it on another mount.

I had been looking for a mic like this for a while and having read the other reviews I took the plunge and bought the black finished version. I am really pleased with my purchase. It really is plug in and play, I have a mac and it worked straight out of the box!I use it for recording guide VO's for editing. You can record straight into QT player and export out m4a files. I was also able to use it direct into my Avid editing software, but I think this only works if you don't have any other in/out device plugged on like an AJA. Very nice quality recording and very solidly made out of metal. Nicely finished and well packaged with a handy carrying pouch. The fold out legs are an excellent idea too! Great mic for the price.

Sturdy, metal design. Audio quality is very good, voice sound very good, picks up sound from 50cm very well but has a slight hiss noticeable when volume is above 70%. Can be removed in an audio editor by lowering the volumes on frequencies 1000, 2000, 3000 Hz. If you want to keep it on a desk you need to raise the volume to around 70-100% and you'll also notice the low volume hiss.

Great looking and sturdy feeling microphone. You do get what you pay for in the build of the thing for sure as getting it out of the box scared it - it was cold as ice and heavy - exactly what I like about it.The microphone part of it is great aswell but it is a condenser microphone so it picks up anything that goes on in the room so I had to play with the setting just a tiny bit and it sounds wonderful and doesnt pick up much of whats not needed. What I will sure do to increase the quality even more is get a mic stand so it goes closer to my mouth so I can reduce the input and further away from any computer fans that it might be picking up.In general a great microphone that could have just a few more functions but at this price I am happy for what I got. And also the mute button has a click that is even more satisfying than my keyboard. Great product.

Picked this up for a summer youtube/twitch project. it came in a great and stylish small box which seems to be completely safe and sturdy to keep the mic and travel with it.Two minutes after I opened the mic and connected it to the computer it self-installed and started working instantaneously.The quality is amazing for the value of this item. I never worked with a desktop microphones before, but this one captures the sound of vocals or instruments perfectly. There is some space to adjust sensitivity features e.t.c using software while linked with the mic.The angle can be easily adjusted which gives better isolation of sound from the area you want it to record.It's pegs also have rubber footing which I did not anticipate (extra feature), meaning that minimal vibrations will be absorbed.

This is neat and portable, and very easy to use. The sound quality is very good, and the best feature is that it does not need a powered USB connection. This means I can use it with my iPhone and iPad.The solid build-quality means it feels rugged. The downside is that it's also a bit heavy. But that's the way it is.Recommended.

I recently created a YouTube channel and have seen my subscriber base grow significantly. A number of comments I received were about the poor quality of my audio, after all, I was just working with my iPhone built-in mic. I did a lot of research and came across this particular mic which ticked all the boxes. Using a USB to FireWire adaptor, this plugs straight into my iPhone 6+ and records excellent sound of my spoken words. A significant improvement to the iPhone microphone and more than good enough for my channel. A note for you to be aware of; the mic requires power and will run off the battery on your phone, so ensure you have a good charge before you start to make your recording.

I was looking for a microphone that I could use for Zoom Meetings. I read some of the reviews and decided to give it a go because the price was definitely right. It took a few minutes to connect to the USB input on my Chromebook. The instructions were very easy to follow and it works very well. 2 thumbs up for this microphone!!
