I was lied to by a Toyota sales person (surprise, surprise) that my 2019 Camry would be able to receive a software upgrade for Android Auto in 2020.I have been debating upgrading my vehicle so I could have android auto, and literally had just come home from the car dealership when this package was on my door step.I was able to install this on my 2019 Camry in less than 5 minutes, and it works perfectly! It's even better than my wife's 2023 Sienna, because I don't have to attach my phone to the car via a cable. (And I can still use my fast charger if I want to.)I wish I could give this 6 stars!

I have had several Carlinkit interfaces for multiple cars. While not the easiest to set up, once they work, they work very well. Despite being much more expensive, I ordered the Ottocast for my latest car because it was supposed to be faster than others. In reality, I have arrived at my destination before the device connects a quarter of the time. The device can take anywhere from about 10s to connect to 10-15 minutes. I have to manually switch my iPhone to CarPlay for outgoing calls. It freezes. It disconnects. I have updated the software on my iPhone and the device several times (a very lengthy process), and no improvement. Avoid this product. I'd love to return it, but cannot.

I've purchased from Ottocast multiple times. Each time the product has either been awesome or had awesome postpurchase support.I love the form factor, and the ease of setup in new vehicles. I will continue to purchase new versions !The only issue I have is call quality, there is a definitive delay between when I speak and when the caller hears me.

Works intermittently

When it was connected it worked as advertised. The issue was with it automatically connecting. It was advertised that after the initial setup whenever you started your car it would automatically connect to your phone and initiate Android Auto. That happened maybe 1 in 20 times. I would have to unplug and plug the adapter back in for it to connect. Other reviewers have said that Android Auto runs on top of Apple Carplay on this adapter. My experience bears that out. On the initial setup my cars display asked if I wanted to initiate Apple Carplay. Naturally I said NO to this prompt and it would always fail to complete setup. When I said YES to the prompt, it continued and initialized Android Auto.....go figure. Other reviewers seemed to have no problems with this adapter....maybe it was something about my car's implementation of Android Auto (2021 Honda Ridgeline). I returned it and purchased the AAWireless Android Auto adapter...it works flawlessly. I've only had it for 2 days, but so far so good.

TLDR;Moral of this story1- Do not update the software unless the device is not working correctly per the statements in the manual2- If you have issues with the device contact their technical support and they will take care of youFor those that want the whole story:I bought this product a few months ago and it worked as promised right out of the box. One thing they cover in their instruction booklet is NOT to update this device if is working correctly for you. Well after replacing my phone with a newer one I had to find a way to delete the old phone from the device. I found a way to do that but in the process I saw that there was an update for the device. I ignored the warning in the booklet and tried to update the device!! That was mistake # 1. The update was not entirely smooth because at first it looked like it failed. However after the upgrade my phone started to have problems connecting to the car. It would connect to the device but the device would not connect the car. I started to debug the problem and landed in a condition where the device led was green which was not covered in the manual. I sent an email to support and after providing the order details I exchanged emails with a few persons until I landed with Julie. Julie told me the problem was addressed in their new release. I needed to increase the delayed start mode which I did and the device has worked flawlessly again since then. Thank You Julie!

It worked after the initial setup but afterword I had to reboot it almost every time I turned my car on...then after a week it just stopped working all together.

Although, the screen and options were/are of quality. Some of the functions only worked if your car has touch screen. There are work around too Lengthy to describe.

I use this in my 2019 Kia Stinger, used to have a long cable attached to my iPhone to have Apple CarPlay…always a pain…especially in winter. Now I just get in and it connects, even if it’s about a 30-60 seconds to do so. I would never go back, I would mention there is the occasional connection issue…still don’t care, I love it

It does not connect most of the time, even after I performed the recommended firmware upgrade. I sometimes unplug and reconnect it 5 or 6 times and it still won't work (2107b Nissan Murano SL). The problem is getting progressively worse. You should correct it, or refund my money!

Product works, you can have Android Auto in an Apple CarPlay only infotainment system, but reconnection is a big problem, at least it was for me.Custoner support was great, but I didn't have have the time to go through all the steps they recommended I should follow to fix the issue.Product at this price point should be plug and play.Returned.

This thing was a bit of a headache to setup in my 2022 Ford Escape. It was not a fun process and I wouldn’t want to do it again (hence the 4 star review). However, once it was set up it has mostly worked as it should. There are a few times it hasn’t connected right away, but unplugging it and plugging it back in fixed the issue each time.I really like not having to plug in my phone for my small trips. Small delay between pushing the steering wheel button and it registering but that is expected.Siri works well and phone calls work too.Would recommend.

The setup was simple and connection seems to be seamless when the vehicle is turned on. I have a 2016 F150 Lariat and had an issue with the display freezing. Customer service got back to me within 24 hours with the solution - a quick change of the video mode. Would recommend this product.
