I love these fire starters. They work very well, even in less-than-ideal fire-starting conditions.

This works like advertised. I was able to start a camp fire fairly easy with this.

These things work very well for starting fires, as long as you're talking normal fireplace conditions - which is what I bought them for. They catch easily, burn a reasonable amount of time, and provide enough heat to burn dry wood. But, if used as directed, the box contains only enough materials for about 4-5 starts, because said instructions says to use *several* starters spread across the wood. This isn't a big deal, but it does mean you're paying over a dollar per fire started, which is fine for special occasions but would add up quickly if you're doing it for a whole season. But it's a lot less toxic that cheaper fire-starting options, and less of a struggle than the old newsprint, blowing and hope!

These were perfect for starting my fires while camping. Worked every time.

These started Briquets in a very short time. I put the brown fibrous rectangle under the briquets and the shredded wood cylinder in the middle. both started the briquets perfectly. I will buy these again

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. One piece to start the firepit fire is all it takes.

Bought these on a whim because we r planning a camping outing soon and don’t have any starters.Getting the package I’m a little concerned and while I would use them for a camp fire, - carefully the first time -, I would not use them on a BBQ or food grill. While it says all the good words like “natural” and “eco-friendly” etc, - nowhere does it say what they are made off, nowhwere does it say WHERE they are Made In, and on the back they don’t even know their own Brand Name “Meker” and misspell it “no other firestarter than MAKER. Not confident building.**RATING** a 3/5 for apparent reasons.(*MY RATE SCALE*: 5=perfect; 4=minor imperfections; 3=on fence; not sure if I’d buy again; 2= too many problems; 1= shouldn’t be sold or dangerous).
