Made me want to get into the studio right away!
The beauty of this book starts with the cloth hard cover...I even love the feel of it in my hands. This is subtitled "a recipe book for textile artists" and I feel like that's exactly what it is. There are some very cool techniques in here with some different twists in method from what I've tried before. I'm eager to start building a new swatch collection to try them out.

Felt Fabri Designs - Rating
The book delivered much more than I expected. It examines different methods of felting, different fabric techniques and clear and concise instructions. I didn't have to spend time trying to understand the instructions or find it necessary to reread them several times for them to make sense. I liked the fact that is wasn't overly simplistic. I would recommend it for beginners through experienced felt designers.

Great book
Very pleased with this book. It has lots of photos & instructions & some new material for felters. Since I own most all books on felting this was a great addition to my library.

Disappointed.
I have Shelia Smiths book Felt to Stitch in my library and have found it to be inspiring, well written and beautifully photographed. I go back to it quite often and always find something to wet my appetite to start a new project. So I was looking forward to and expecting more of the same with this book Felt Fabric Designs- a Recipe Book for Textile Artists.Disappointingly it is a let down. Yes the cover is a deliciously tactile apple green but that was where my excitement ended.I felt let down by the projects chosen. While the techniques are all interesting and valid, the projects themselves were quite boring and for me totally uninspiring. I couldn't help but feel they were projects that were lying around the studio and had not made it into the first book or the new one coming out ! ( which I have pre ordered ?! ). She does state on page 25 that the book is meant " not to present recipes for projects to be carefully followed" but to "offer ideas for creating felted fabrics for use in your own individualwork" All the more reason for these very general "recipes" to be irresistible and inspiring.Sadly this will not be a book that I go back to for inspiration any time soon.Maria SachsSwitzerland
