Extremely strong, and takes getting used to
I've got boots that keep shredding laces (I think an edge on one of the eyelets is slicing them) so I bought these hoping they would be different, or at least no risk with the guarantee. The good news: they are strong. 4 pairs of laces lasted less than a month, after a month these iron laces aren't even scratched so I'm certainly happy they will last me a decent time. The difference: they are harsh. These laces have zero stretch or give in them. It took a while to get them laced just right because they don't stretch and balance out as you walk and don't dream about slipping shoes on and off. They are very grippy against the eyelets and against themselves. It takes a little getting used to, but they come off after an hour walk with exactly the same tightness as when I first tied them. I think it's a good thing, as long as you have boots with open hook eyelets at the top or loosening these could be hardThe bad: these are very harsh on the fingers. Pulling tight is hard (see above) and if you pull the knot too tight it hurts to undo. You need to accept that a mild knot will still hold it reliably. They also arrive very dirty. Part of the manufacturing process seems to leave them with a black powder residue that really gets over your hands. I suggest when you buy them give them a lot of wiping before first use, or that the manufacturer does it before packaging.I'm happy with the laces, it's sort of what you want in a heavy pair of boots as long as you know what you are getting.

No regrets
At first I was worried I would regret buying these laces, some reviews make it sound like they are difficult to use or that there is some sort of negative aspect. But after using them for a week so far I am very happy with them. They are just as easy to tie and untie as normal laces, but are clearly going to last longer than regular laces. My caterpillar boots are 6 months old and both laces got worn out in that time. Hopefully these last at least a year, I'll update this review if they fail. But I hope they will outlast even my next pair of boots. As for colour, I was worried they wouldn't look nice on my dark brown boots, but they are fine. In photos they tend to look a bit orange but in person they look great. This includes my attached pictures, I assure you they blend in just fine.Very happy with these laces, a bit expensive but if they last longer than my boots then I'm glad to have them.

Stiff but strong laces
Good, strong laces for work boots. Perfect length. They feel stiff compared to regular fabric laces but I like that they never snag or untie themselves. Not cheap, but very reliable so far. Happy customer.

Strong but filthy.
These are definitely strong laces, only been using them a few days but I can tell they're going to last a lot longer than the whole pack of laces I've used up in the past few months. Feels like you're using cables to tie your boots together. My only complaint is that so far every time I tie the laces I end up with filthy hands (see image). I'm hoping this will stop happening after a while.

A year of welsh wet weather.
These laces are class.Put these into my mountain warehouse hiking boots that used metal eyelets . Used in dry, wet, rough terrain regularly for walking the dog and exploring the welsh mountains and forests. They are solid laces. My boots have called apart before the laces have. The original leaves last maybe a month. These have been just going on with no real signs of major wear. The black colour faded pretty quick and now they're more of a grey, but really it doesnt bother me in anyway. There is signs of wear fro m the metal eyelets but this is pretty minimal. I wouldn't even call it a grey more like signs of rubbing. The laces are rough and once tied up dont come loose unless done so deliberalty to take the boots off.Highly recommend.
