Would be a great tool except sanding pads just fail after 15 minutes use 120 or 240 grit. Indeed, with 60 grit one is lucky to get 5 minutes!!! Really angry. Sanding pad surface is still as good as new, but, pad starts to float on shoe and Velcro adhesion is lost. Bosch are onto a financial winner, cos both shoes (sanding plates) and sanding pads are expensive. Velcro idea poor on this tool. Not fit for purpose. However, found a really good solution (after investing in 3 new shoes and loads of sanding pads!). Purchase "Dial" extra thick double sided carpet tape from, say, B&Q. Place tape on shoe and carefully cut, with scissors (craft knife not so good), to shape of delta shoe. Press well into Velcro hooks whilst tape backing intact. Peel backing off. Place sanding pad on flat surface, bring shoe down to meet it and gently pick up pad (don't press yet). Ensure it is in correct position (can be repositioned at this stage ; peel and repeat position cycle). If ok, use thumb and press sanding pad firmly onto adhesive/shoe. Use scissor point/old blade to cut breather holes in adhesive (holes in sanding pad act as template), for dust to escape. Go and sand. Magic. Even 60 grit lasts until it is totally worn out. Never moves on shoe!! When sanding pad worn out, peel it off shoe. One will find adhesive comes off, firmly stuck to worn out pad. Leaves shoe nice and clean ready to accept next pad (with experience, less than 5 mins change). Yippee! Saved me from committing hari kari plus filling Bosch coffers.

Just realised just how poor this and even the sander Bosch sell this item for are and what a waste of money this is. They have both just gone in the bin. Not worth the hassle. Shame on you Bosch. Could be a plan to get us to buy repeated plates is just a thought. Not this chap though. Gone and who knows, we might even stop buying more Bosch stuff, a name, I thought, that at one time represented good performance.

Used to replace my original one for my PMF190E which i worked too hard and too fast. The speed must be less than 70% of maximum!So far so good now letting the tool do the job.

This pad is more robust than the original supplied with the Bosch multi-tool. The original lasted less than 1 day before it melted, this new one has lasted weeks (and is still OK). It's not perfect, the hooks do get clogged with sanding dust but they are easy to clear.

In my hands these do not seem to last very long, with the Velcro attaching stuff giving out after a couple of months. This is still one of the most important and best tools in my workshop, but I do wish these items lasted longer.

I have had this before and am just a little disappointed with how soon the bristles fail to hold.

I was really disappointed by this product. It worked very well initially as a replacement tool and then, as others have said, it got too hot and started to melt meaning that the velcro just burnt off so the sanding pads wouldn't stick to it so it didn't work. That was after about 2 hours usage with breaks in between. Not fit for purpose is my view. However it seems I've little alternative than to purchase another one or order a much more expensive multi-pack which I don't need. Not pleased with Bosch on this one.
