Burns Pet Nutrition Hypoallergenic Complete Dry Dog Food Adult and Senior Dog Alert Chicken and Brown Rice 12 kg

When I got my dog just over a year ago I bought her an expensive dog food recommended by the assistant at the vet's. The dog seemed to like it and she grew well. It was only by chance that I came across a review which scored this food at a mere 1.7 out of 5 that I looked more deeply into it. I was recommended Burns dog food and it was suggested that I made contact with them - I did this with an online chat and they were very helpful - even going so far as to send a few samples and giving recommendations as to how much food I should give my pup. After munching her way through the samples I decided to change over to Burns - it scored much more highly and the pup seemed to prefer it.The previous dog food cost nearly £40 for ten Kilos and I had to feed my pup 225 grams of food per day - Burns was under £30 for 12 Kilos and I only need to feed her 175 grams of food - this makes a big difference in the cost of feeding the pup. She is about 2/3 of the way through her first bag of food and I have noticed a marked difference in her. Her fur is very shiny, her skin is in good condition and she has a reduced level of flatulence (this was not a big problem but she is one of those dogs who does not recognise her own eruptions so jumps and investigates suspiciously whenever her bottom coughs - so fewer laughs for us but presumably more stomach comfort for the pup). When I discussed feed with the Burns people they recommended the Alert Chicken or Lamb or the original Fish as it contains salmon oil which may help with calmness issues. I think this has helped my pup calm down a little but not to any great extent.Overall I am very happy with the Burns food - my dog enjoys it and at her annual check up last week the Vet was very happy with her weight and her general condition - he was particularly impressed that her weight had been stable for the last three months and told me to keep doing whatever I was doing as the pup was in fantastic condition.

Been using burns for 15years. Recommended for westie to prevent stomach/skin problems. Shihtzu and German Shepard then joined the family and they all get it. Not the cheapest to use for feeding larger breeds but easier for them all to eat the same thing. They also love the lamb. Used to buy from pet shop but great delivery to the door from Amazon.

I have used this product since we got our dog. I didn't realise you can buy it much cheaper on Amazon than my usual pet shop.

Wanted to try a better quality food as my Labrador’s 💩 was soft, frequent and produced in sizes akin to a pony.. less than week from introducing this mixed with her old food- she’s 💩 only twice a day firm none smelly stools which are half the amount previously- also she hasn’t been suffering from noxious gases as she was before…win all round- happy dog, happy owner. 😀🐶

Not sure my dog is any cleverer but he crops way less since we changed his food. He loves it too

I board a small number of dogs in my home and sometime ago 2 black labs with amazing coats came to stay. I was so impressed I changed my Golden Retriever's food to Burns regular chicken which although very good and palatable didn't have quite the same effect on her coat. Put her on the Alert and definitely improved the softness. Didn't need to feed a huge amount so very reasonable cost. Now have a collie cross who was initially on the food supplied by the rescue centre, then fed her on a fish based kibble and she was fine but when I put her on Burns Alert the difference to her coat within a week was amazing. It is so silky and shiny and everyone comments on how healthy she looks.
