Interesting and very detailed book of the Keyline method of water and general soil management. While most relevant for droughty areas, many of these ideas would be applicable to other areas where water management could reduce the impact of floods by capturing some of the water during heavy precipitation events, and slowly releasing the water to reduce peak flow periods. A useful tool for urban water management as well.

Water For Every Farm is a compilation of other books written by PA Yeomans starting in the 1950's. The information presented is not outdated, and applies today. This book is invaluable to any landowner, farmer, or rancher that has ever struggled with periods of drought, or just would like more water available for their farm enterprises.

I could summarize the Yeomans Keyline plan here, but I will just say instead, THIS book, and these ideas, properly applied, could go a long way toward greatly reducing the effects of drought AND flood! As global warm hits us harder and harder, these ideas and techniques are going to be of paramount importance.

On the third reading the information sinks in better. Some sections are dry and tedious to progress. Concept and use are essentially tools to aid water management.

This is the textbook for the Keyline design system. It's a great way for water scarce areas to really flourish and build their soil and operation in a natural, healthy way.

I found it very difficult to understand at first. It would've been helpful to have more detailed pictures explaining the main features you need to know to understand Keyline. I also found there to be a lot of repetitive information. Maybe this will be an easier read for someone who isn't a visual learner. It's an awesome concept, however, and will benefit anyone who wants to improve the land around them. It's just not the most interesting read to get through.

A difficult read but a must have text for anyone serious about permaculture, sustainable farming, eco resilience, etc.
