A little spicy
This sauce has just the right amount of spicy and has a perfect texture. I use it on many different dishes. It’s a better price than in the grocery store (when the store even has it!). Enjoy 😀

Iron Age doesn't fail to delight
As store bought sauces go, I typically avoid them like the plague. They tend to confound my mind with the failure to capture the essence of flavor and joy that the fresh counterpart likely brings. Seriously--you take the preservatives out of most sauces--the stabilizers, and whatever else is put in their to condition it for a long shelf life... most store bought sauces are going to taste pretty decent. You put that stuff in though, and you adjust the formula to help offset the flavors, and you just... get this indecent, heinous form of food that people only consume because they are too lazy to go out of their way to make the real thing.Sorry--I realize that that is probably you, dear consumer friend. But, fear not. This product is the king of bottled sauces. It is tasty, flirting with the line of overly sweet and balanced with a smile on it's face. It brings just enough heat that I can say, "yeah--yeah, I suppose it is there" while not blowing my poor wife's lips off, sending her down the hallway to find napkins to dry her tears--begging for milk or literally anything to sedate the pain I've caused her.Honestly--this is more of a preference of my wife's. If I am going to make a General Tsao chicken, it is really quite easy to whip the sauce up. I just rarely keep the fresh peppers around my house due to my wife's aversion to heat. So--this stuff will suffice, and it is a crowd pleaser. My go to with this stuff is to whip up some chicken with a tempura style batter--a light, sifted flour with soda water, gently seasoned--quickly friend, and then sauced in a pan to appropriately glaze. Sometimes, I'll even make an overly large batch of the chicken, freeze it on a sheet tray, and bust it back out--same quick glaze, tremendous success. It also works combined with some plain white rice. Or white rice + cauliflower rice. Or on just about anything that you can imagine a sweet/spicy sauce on. I don't know--I don't get too creative with it.Succinct version: thick, on the sweet side of a General Tsao sauce, very mild spice, a little goes a long way, the bottle is large and seems like a fair value--but a bit on the expensive side all things considered. I regularly buy this product, so that should speak for itself despite any reservations I've voiced.

General tsos sauce
We love this sauce. We don’t just use it for chicken. We use it on ribs, pork, as a dipping sauce.

The sauce is great but the jar is HUGE!
My supermarket stopped carrying this brand of General Tso’s sauce which I loved. I bought the larger size bottle from Amazon because it was more economical but the bottle turned out to be much bigger than I anticipated from the photo. So just be warned that the large bottle is huge — only order it if you really like the sauce and can handle it bottle with some weight to it.

Too sugary. Yuck.
This sauce doesn't remotely taste like General Tso's chicken. Way too sweet without any spice or savories. My wife said that we should just call it candy chicken. Do not buy this product.

Pricey but tastes Great!
As far as taste goes-May Not be a perfect General Tsao’s to everyone (I personally prefer adding toasted sesame & a bit hotter/spicier 🌶️ ) but preferences (like hot pepper flakes) can always be added to it. This is definitely the best tasting store bought one that I’ve found so far. Also, has mostly natural ingredients (except perhaps modified food starch), & supposedly there’s no added MSG. It’s a bit pricey here & will look for it elsewhere cheaper but definitely worth trying & having on hand!
