no, you can't. if you watch the video it shows that you have to remove the lid to drink. i think the "flex" is in fact that the handle folds down, instead of being "fixed". you can get a lid that has a pop-up straw.

Yes, it should be perfectly cylindrical (round) all the way up. If it's not, there is an issue, and I would think that the company would take care of it. To tell if it's in fact round, remove the cap, make sure it's empty, place it on its side on a flat surface, and roll it.

Q: I just bought this hydroflask in the color olive. Is it normal for the lid to have to be forced to close all the way? It doesnt close easily
