This muffler was as quiet as any factory exhaust. It worked perfectly for my 4650 Watt generator (Westinghouse or Duramax clone). When side by side (old vs new), this has the same decibel range as my new generator. Highly recommend.Another brand (about 20$ cheaper) fell apart within a month. That same brand was also as loud as if there was nothing on the motor. None of those issues here

Sound is slightly lower than stock. Had to cut away some shielding on the frame for a fit. Better than nothing.

The ads and reviews for this product imply that it fits Champion 4000 series and 224 cc engines. I bought one for my Champion 4450-starting watt, 224cc engine generator. The mounting holes do not line up with the bolts and if you attached the muffler to the support bracket you can't attach the muffler to the engine.

I bought this for a Champion dual fuel generator. It doesn't bolt up to the mounting points the way it should. I can probably adapt it but don't know that I will. I used a decibel app to check before and after levels of the factory muffler and this after market muffler. There was no difference in sounds levels. None! If you need a replacement muffler due to rust or damage this would probably work ok but if you're buying it to make your generator quieter, you will be disappointed. I know I am...
