Serfas E-Lume 500 Bicycle Headlight - USL-500

Excellent light, but buyers like me should NOT have to read questions posted about the item in order to find out that the handle bar mount IS INCLUDED with this purchase... Please put that info in the description so a guy like me doesn't foolishly buy a separate handle bar mount .....? I gave this as a gift.

I've owned a few of these Serfas lights. I like their brightness and durability, but the mounting clamps are awkward and fiddly, and worst of all, I've had several of them fail due to rubber fatigue. I'd also say that I think the illumination pattern on Light and Motion's urban series lights is probably a bit better than these Serfas models.

Great value and easy to install. I mostly use the strobe feature for daytime riding. It makes me feel safer when approaching vehicles. Rather then just having a taillight and only being visible from behind. The battery lasts a long time. It’s plenty bright if I get caught in the dark after a long ride.

I really like this light especially the super bright settings. I've used it a few times now for several hours of use and have not yet had to charge the batteries. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the handle bar mount. It can be a little tough getting it own tight enough so it does not move when you're riding.

Great brightness, light time, and settings. Comes off the mount with a bit of careful force or you can unwrap it. Word of caution to find a way to zip tie, glue or screw into your bike to prevent theft. I don't blame the light on that though, that was me leaving my bike in the same place for 12+ hours on a high theft campus.

Just try inserting the pin in the place for the smallest handlebar circumference (as on my wife's terra trike). The light is great. The mount is absurd.

The light works very well. I was replacing a Serfas E-lume 600 that I'd only had for a year. I did not realize until I read the packaging for this light that I could have just bought a replacement battery for my current light.So, I will buy a replacement battery and have two lights if needed.

Love this product, 3 brightness levels and also includes additional flashing modes. Very easy to adjust the mounting bracket for various size handlebars. Very durable - about the same weight as a 35mm aluminum stem.
