David Busch's Nikon Z9/Z8 Guide to Digital Still Photography (The David Busch Camera Guide Series)

This is a very thorough book, but not one to push into one's rear pocket. These cameras are extremely complex, and sometimes I just need an easy lookup for something very specific. This book fits that niche very nicely. It does not err on the part of brevity, but provides understandable responses to questions I've had.

Mr. Busch guided me through the menus of my D810. When I went mirrorless and got my Z9 after returning to freelance work, I couldn't wait for this to arrive. Like the camera, I ordered it months before it was available. It has been worth the wait. Even though Nikon offers a comprehensive, 1,000+ page user manual and several supplements for specialty photography, Busch provides just about everything you need to know in a very readable and well-organized book. Even after a year with the Z9 (and now a Z8 I got as a second body), I'm finding new things to learn all the time. Busch's guide has taught me quite a few of them, as well as clarified other features that didn't quite make sense at first. The Z8/9 are wonderfully smart and capable cameras. This is the absolute best way to get the most out of them. I even purchased the Kindle version so I can keep a copy with me when I'm on the road. It's that useful!

Very complete and easy to read and understand

Great review on these cameras, as all of Busch’s book are. One disappointment though was in the preface it states “What you really need is a guide that explains the purpose and function of the camera’s basic controls, available lens options….How you should use them and why. This is that book” There is no chapter at all, or no recommendations as in past manuals, of available or recommended lenses as in past books. No real mentions of lenses at all. Disappointing.

I have the electronic version. Have had several of David’s books and they are all great and easy to read. Great reference also.

This book is better than any other book or online info I have used.As I did, the only problem you may have is that it has so much information that it is hard to remember it all.

As with David Busch's other camera books, this a wonderful guide to your camera. It is written in plain English and introduces the reader to all the complexities of the Z9. If you have a Z9, you need this book.

Busch’s book on cameras are packed full of information. A little “wordy” but full of information. I have to use the index quite a bit because he spreads the information needed over multiple chapters. My only negative
