Enjoyable
What I like best about this book was that it took place Down Under. The quirky aunts were fun characters, along with the too handsome fellow who is certain every woman is after him. Morganna did an excellent job of forshadowing throughout the book. It is rather like the feeling you get when you are alone in the house and hear a noise and know something is wrong, but you don't know what. This kept me paging turning along with curiousity if the too handome man would ever quit being so arrogant. This is a fun book that features a bed and breakfast, a murder (of course), interfering relatives, a handsome fellow or two and werewolves. I didn't see the ending coming, either. Not your usual cozy mystery. Find out why.

Frustrating
I don't even know how Valkyrie came up with the name Pepper for herself, but there's no real point in her using the name since everyone, especially her aunts insist on calling her by her birth name most of the time."Pepper" is kept in the dark all the time by her aunts. Since the story is written from her perspective, we the readers are also kept in the dark. Why bother to say that any of them are witches? The only magic that's done is to force the shifter to change and when the *spoiler* aunts reveal their true appearance. With a bit of editing, the witch angle could be left out entirely.Early in the book Lucas says that he feels that "Pepper" might be in danger. Okay, so why is she left on her own all the time. I get that the aunts are hiding things, but shooing "Pepper" out of the house all the time when there's a murderer on the loose is just plain dumb.

I couldn't put it down!
Well now, this was an interesting paranormal cozy that I could really sink my teeth into. Valkyrie, aka Pepper is down on her luck job wise. Her three aunt's invite her to join them in their ancestral home to help run their bed and breakfast. The B&B doesn't actually serve breakfast and their cottages are all themed oddly. Then there's the mess of a website that Pepper is going to sink her teeth into as soon as she can. Before any of that can happen, a dead body falls through the stained glass set into the roof! I should probably tell you that Pepper and her aunt's are simple ordinary witches. However the sweet old aunts are a little eccentric and are probably hiding things from Pepper, like what's in the forbidden room. I love the characters and plot of this book. Once I started it, I just had to keep reading. I couldn't put it down. This seems quite a bit different from the paranormal cozies I like to read and I totally enjoyed it!

Witches, vampires, and shifters. Oh, my!
I enjoyed reading this first book in this series as I have always enjoyed reading the ones from Morgana. Each of the series she offers has something unique about them as this one is no exception. Pepper a.k.a. Valkyrie moves in with her eccentric aunts to help them run a Bed and Breakfast from their ancestral home. She is a witch but is that all she is? When a body falls into the entryway of the house just as she and a guest arrive, she realizes that there is more to her aunts than she first thought. I'm off to read the next installment of the series because I liked this book so much.

SECRETS IN THE FAMILY
Pepper coming back after five years, unable to find a job. The Aunts as her parents called them, is where she would be staying. They were eccentric and ran a B & B Of cottages they rented out. Butterflies were assaulting me as I walked to the house, which always was a dire warning.coming to the door and being greeted by the aunts, a body falls thru the skylight. Lucas a paying guest had just come to register, he had inherited the winery. Pepper soon finds out there is a lot of secrets in this family, and what to do about them. As for Lucas could she love him, at time he is a bit arrogant . A fun cozy murder with the Sydney down under touch to it.

I really enjoyed this book
Witches' Brew Witch Cozy Mystery (Witches and Wine Bk. 1) By Morgana Best.Pepper Jasper has moved from Sydney to the cozy town of Lighthouse Bay, in order to helpl her aunts with their failing Bed And Breakfast business. But lo and behold her aunts were more eccentric than she remembered. And to add more mystery to this story, shortlyly after her arrival she discovers a dead body. I won't go into details other than that there are strickingly handsome men, werewolves and many witches. If you want to know what happens, I recommend you get this book and read it to find out how the mystery ends. I am looking forward to Book 2.

First in the Vampires and Wine Series
Pepper Jasper, a young Australian witch, answers a call of help from her ancient aunts. They run a bed and breakfast and need help. Things don’t start out well as Pepper has a dead body drop in as she enters her new home. The police seem a little uninvolved so Pepper dives into solving the mystery. Pepper is a young witch just learning her trade. Her aunts seem old but have no problems keeping up with the house. They do seem to encourage drinking a local wine. This is a fun mystery as Pepper learns about her aunts and supernatural beings that she didn’t know existed as well as solves the mystery. Can’t wait for more!

Loved this!!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was such a fun read. Books about the paranormal are some of my favorites and Morgana Best makes is impossible not to fall in love with it even more. Valkyrie moves back home to live with her aunts and ends up in the middle of a mystery. When she ends up finding out that secrets run in her family what will she do when they start to come out? She meets the mysterious Lucas on the day she returns home but this man is both attractive and a pain in the butt, what happens when she fights her attraction? Thank you for allowing me to read this book and write a honest and unbiased review.

Disappointing
Oh, dear, where to start? A potentially interesting concept was ruined by very poor writing. Far too much telling instead of showing. For instance, right at the beginning, the protagonist is trying to figure out how a body fell through a skylight. We're inside her head and she tell us at great length how the killer could have climbed a tree with the body over his shoulder. Someone joins her and she repeats in dialogue what we've already leaned from her thoughts. Then she does it again when talking to someone else! Needless repetition that slows the story down. And as for repeated words, sometimes the same one three or four times in the same paragraph... It really needs the attention of a good editor. Surprised no one else has commented on that.

Good story
I liked this story as it's a bit different to the usual witch cozy but just one thing stood out. When Pepper is gift shopping she can't afford to buy anything from the candle shop yet she gets a taxi home so how can she afford that? We all know taxis aren't cheap. Lucas remains a mystery - he's either a werewolf or a witch-vampire and I'm hoping the latter as I'm not that keen on werewolves being part of the witch stories. Pepper has good instincts about people but doesn't really listen to them and finds herself in trouble because of it. She strikes me as a bit stupid in the thought area but pretty brave when she needs to be. Overall, a good read and I would recommend it to other readers.

Entertaining 🙂
A very good series starter. Don't read all the reviews, as one in particular should read "spoiler alert!" This is a good book, well written and I particularly liked the humour in this book. A nice mix of sleuth and mythology. Surprisingly there wasn't a lot of magic. But perhaps that will come later in the series.

Interesting read
Good read, story line different from the usual paranormal books. Girl moves in this aunts to find that they are vampires and not old at all and she herself is a vampire too. To add to this there are werewolves or gypsies as they are known in this book killing people. So everyone turns sleuths to catch the killer's .

Fabulous!
Just loved this book. The story was fairly fast paced and full of fun with the added downside of murder. I felt as though I was there with Pepper and her Aunts. The description and dialogue was so vivid and left me wanting more.

Easy read 😊
Likeable characters. Easy going storyline. A little predictable .but on the whole a nice "cozy " story not too taxing on the little grey cells.I like Morgana's style of writing and she never fails to entertain x
