Works as intended but too expensive!
I am only giving this flange 5 stars because it does what i needed it to do. We recently upgraded our stainless steel kitchen sink into a Shaw Fireclay sink. For others who have bought the same sink as we did you will immediately realize that your current flange for your garbage disposal isnt deep enough to go through the sink. This sink is thicker than SS ones and so you need a flange that is deeper. Why this is worth $50 is beyond us, and since we cant find a substitute we are stuck with this. It gets the job done nicely and that is the only reason it is getting 5 stars. If it was based on price i would give this 0 stars....

This extended flange fits American Standard Disposal from Costco...
Great solution to my thick porcelain sink. My sink was too thick for the new garbage disposal I bought from Costco. I got the American Standard 1.25 hp. waste disposer recently. The flange that is inserted through the sink drain hole is too short for thicker porcelain sinks.I have installed many InSinkErator brand disposals, and this American Standard appeared to be manufactured by InSinkErator. Exact same mounting style. So I took a chance on this extended sink flange. It fits perfectly, and is totally compatible with the American Standard disposal. For some sinks, you may need to purchase 3 longer mounting bolts if your sink is too thick. The ones that come with these disposals are a little short, so you may not get them tight enough to create a water tight seal between your sink and this new flange.

If you have a Farmhouse sink you need this and possibly more
If you are trying to install an Insinkerator disposal unit (or even another brand) and have a Farmhouse sink you’ll need this Deep Sink Flange. The standard flange is 1-1/2 inches deep and it does not leave enough room for the thickness of a farmhouse sink. Here is the rest of the story...I go to my daughter's house to install a new dishwasher and end up installing a new disposal unit as well. She has a farmhouse sink and the plumber (or the person impersonating a plumber) installed the disposal on a 1” thick farmhouse sink with the standard flange. He did not use the backup flange and just had the screws directly contacting her expensive sink so the whole disposal unit was putting pressure on three screws. It was leaking badly, stinking badly and damaged the cabinet. [see graphic with screw indents in the sink]If your sink is thicker than ¾ of an inch you need this Deep Sink Flange but if your sink is between ¾” and 1” insinkerator does not have the full solution. There are two screw lengths they provide with the standard flange that comes with the new disposal unit which are the H1 which is 1-1/2 inches and H2 which is 1-1/8 inches. Now if you install a 1” sink in the Deep Sink Flange which is 3-1/2 inches deep that means you have about 2-1/2 more inches of flange. Of course, there is the snap ring which does take up some depth but the problem is that Insinkerator does not have screws long enough for a 1” sink and definitely not a ¾ inch sink. My solution was to add a second [see graphic] backup flange (kind of a kludge) and if it does NOT hold, I will obtain some longer stainless-steel screws. They should be called Insinkerator H3 screws and would be a 5/16-18 [18 threads per inch] and 1-3/4 inches long and the end should be flat so as to have better pressure on the back flange. Last comment – yes at $50 this deep flange is a rip-off and if it came with the 1-3/4 screws it would still be a rip-off but at least you could install your disposal unit.

Very expensive but it works great.
Nice extension but it’s only available by order of hardware stores and Amazon. Ridiculously EXPENSIVE. You’re stuck buying the flange if you have a wider sink bottom. I received the part very quickly and I was able to put the sink and disposal back together. I would buy this product again.

Good for fireclay sink
Little did we know when buying a fire clay apron sink that a standard garbage disposal flange wouldn’t be long enough. This one did the trick.

no other company makes a deep flange like this so Insinkerator has full control of the market ...
Worked perfectly but this price is outrageous. From what I could tell, no other company makes a deep flange like this so Insinkerator has full control of the market and can charge whatever they want. You can get a standard flange for $15. This item should be $25, max.

The flange is a flange--quality is fine etc. The reason I am giving a 3 star review is because InSinkErator and the description both said it would work for a sink 1 3/4" thick. My plumber tried--I tried--it was hopeless. I was installing on a concrete sink so I bought an angle grinder and ground the sink down to make it work--a lot of effort for the money. It should have worked.

Just what the doctor ordered
I bought a new Farmhouse kitchen sink and new garbage disposal for our kitchen remodel. When the plumber tried to install the new Kitchenaid disposer he found that the flange that comes with the disposer isn't deep enough to hookup the disposer because the new sink is much thicker than a standard sink. This flange fits the new sink perfectly.and it's much lower in cost than some of the other flanges on the market.Great product and they shipped it really fast.
