Very soft and effective
I use this for brushing away excess gold leaf from gilding adhesive on my projects. It works well, although it has left behind a stray hair or two after many hours of use. I expect that with nearly any brush, though. Just be careful to always review your work.

Didnt know what I was missing/
I had never used a gilding brush before in applying gold leaf. WOW! What a difference it makes in ease of application. Normally I am using gold leaf on encaustic and I would not want any of the brush hairs to attach to the warm wax; however, I am now applying leaf on monotypes using the the leaf adhesive. This brush works GREAT! I read the reviews of the various brushes available and I am so glad I chose this one. It works perfect. Great product.

Fell apart after 1 minute of use
Garbage. The first clue this was a junk product was when I tried to pull it out of the packaging, the entire head just fell off. The crimp that should hold the head to the wood handle was weak, no indentation into the wood at all. I figured I'd just be gentle with it. Then I started using it to brush silver leaf onto my piece. About a minute into the project half of the bristles just fell out. I ended up finishing the project with a different brush after pulling all the random bristles from this one off my project. Of course it will cost me $1 to send it back. Buy another brand folks.
