This isn’t the intended use, but I used this for a natural dye mordant for linen along with alum! It worked great for keeping marigold flower dye in the fabric

I thought I ordered a larger amount but it was extremely small but the product works. Pay attention to the size.

I ordered this to use as a face mask and also for dental health. I felt like my skin was tightened and toned after a 30-minute mask. I am not a fan of using it to improve gum health because of sensory issues I have, but I tried it. I can't say it helped after just one use. I think I will stick with my neem toothpaste instead. I have not taken it internally although instructions to do so are provided on the package. If I do, I will update this review with my take on that experience.

This powder is from oak galls from the Aleppo oak species. Not all oak galls are created equally--I have tried making black oak gall ink using galls from an American white oak in Ohio, and they made a sad, sepia-toned ink that is barely visible on parchment. The source of your oak gall powder really matters, and if you want a high-tannin, dark ink, this is the type of gall you're looking for. It's very finely ground, and easy to blend into your iron solution. Great for dye, as well, either for leather or wood.
