Update:Highly recommended. Still very happy with boat. Still going strong and fast. Having a blast. My neighbor has just ordered one so we can race!Had small issue with broken wire for LED lights, seller was excellent, they replaced the part quickly. (Details below.)With a couple of weeks of experience, here are some things to know.1. Rubber nose protector is great idea but doesn't fit snugly. Mine fell off and sank on first day. BUT the boat is easy to control so I'm not worried about damaging the nose.2. Pay attention to the warning about damaging the battery. When the controller beeps that the battery is low, bring the boat directly back and get it out of the water. I open the boat and disconnect the battery ASAP. The battery can be quite warm. Wait for it to cool down before charging again.3. Weak point: the inner cover has LED lights (fun operating boat at night) but the wire that connects it to boat is not strong. Opening the boat puts a lot of stress on this wire. Try to support the weight of the cover so the wire doesn't break. (Mine broke. The seller responded and shipped replacement part very quickly. Very impressed with them.) I modified the inner cover, adding waterproof tape to support the wire. Or, if night ops are not in the cards, unplug the wire and remove the LEDs (two small screws) or disconnect the wire so the cover is no longer attached. Boat will be fine.4. Buy a second battery. Not required, but charging battery takes 4.5 hours plus cool-down time. Second battery extends play time or allows another play time on same day. Search for "r46 rc boat battery". (This is a hidden bonus of buying this boat, that you can easily find matching battery. With the others, it can be difficult to figure out which of the many available batteries are compatible with your boat.)5. Range is good, IMO, but be careful with max range. I'm not sure that the controller range warning works. I had the boat go beyond range once. I don't think that the controller had made a sound. Fortunately I was able to find and rescue it, no harm done.6. Reverse is not very effective.7. Small amounts of water can get inside. After removing the battery, turn the boat over and try to get the water out. Use a paper towel. Let it air dry with the covers off.8. I am in brackish water. I use a spray bottle of fresh water to rinse the back end before opening the boat.These are minor issues. For the price, this boat can't be beat. Get one!Original review:While I respect those who had different experiences, mine has been fantastic. The boat was easy to get set up and going (after charging battery). I had some experience with smaller/slower boat, but this one is way faster yet easier to control. I'd say that 40MPH is realistic. If there are any waves, capsize will happen, but the self-right function has worked every time. Battery life is around 20 minutes, as expected. I just sent it out for a night run, what fun with the bright white LEDs making it easy to keep track.Impressed with provided spare parts (rudder, skegs, prop shafts, etc).Happy that they made it easy to find and buy a spare battery (R46). Worth it.I recommend this boat very highly.

I am extremely disappointed with the TOPCHOIC Brushless RC Boat. Despite its advertised 40+ MPH speed, I cannot even close the cabin cover after inserting the battery, rendering the boat unusable. I have tried for hours, and it's clear that the design is flawed. The top plastic pin cannot fit into the designated hole, and the back of the lid won't lower enough to engage the orange locks. This should be easy for a child, but even as an adult, I can't get it to work.I reached out to customer service multiple times, starting on August 17th, and provided detailed explanations and photos of the issue. Despite their initial responses, they requested the photos repeatedly and even provided a different email address to send them to. I complied, but since August 19th, I've heard nothing back. This lack of communication is highly unacceptable and frustrating.I purchased this boat with high expectations, but it has been nothing but a headache. The boat is brand new, yet it's unusable due to this cabin cover issue. The customer service is equally disappointing, as they have failed to provide a solution or even a basic response. I strongly advise against purchasing this product, especially if you expect any kind of support when things go wrong.Amazon customer service was extremely poor too as they keep saying that I should reach directly the 3rd party seller because they cannot. They can ONLY make money when we Amazon customers purchase items, BUT cannot provide help.

This little boat is unnecessarily fast which is exactly what I wanted. It is very hard to control at speed and flips easy, but it's just so powerful for its size.

The media could not be loaded. The controller handles the boat well on waves as well as smooth water. The night sailing features were just right and exactly how it’s described. The boat rarely flipped and stayed upright throughout sailing. The controller was easy to learn and not complicated. I used my boat at the lake with waves and at maximum speed and still no water got inside. The bumper feature helped with any crashing into things. It had excellent handling while going full speed. When running out of battery, the boat will start beeping so you can recharge. The radio system adds a lot of fun and enjoyment to the boat experience. The packaging for the boat is secure and easy to pack and unpack. The boat makes the lake so much more fun!

Very fast and cool to play with. Can't set the trim or control the "straight" running.... Battery doesn't last long at all...
