Works great
Easy to set up. Easy to schedule. Easy to skip a rainy day. Wish I could afford more of them for my other soaker hoses!!

No Auto Rain Delay
I bought this product primarily for the ability to not over water my plants.I thought there would be a smart-delay feature for when it rains, however, this is not the case. You must actively check the weather + activate the delay through the app.Set up was ~easy enough, though pairing the gateway + the device was momentarily confusing. The manual On button on the device works well enough. The connectivity can sometimes lead to ~minute level response time (rather than ~2 seconds compared to most indoor products).

Works
This Raindrip R875CT Hose-End Smart Water Sprinkler Timer, Wi-Fi, Wireless Hose Faucet Bibb Timer for Garden works. My faucet was at the outer edge of my Wi-Fi signal so I had to move my router closer. After that it started working better.

New devices can’t connect
I think the concept is good and SHOULD Have BEEN simple. But I been trying to connect the devices in the last two hours or so and still get ‘fail to connect’ message. The working band is 2.4Ghz, mean more interference with other devices in house.Going to try again tomorrow see if I can get them to work.

I’ve had several flow controllers this is my favorite
Every year I have been planting an elaborate garden. I have other priorities at the moment. However I did purchase a row of Mandeville’s which are famous for an all summer bloom. I simply wanted to use a drip irrigation hose to water them even though the spaces in between would be watered as well. This RainDrip seems to be the best. There were several things I found to be important. One of them is that I want to be able to control the flow on or off without having to get out my cell phone. Guess what? A simple press of the large button on the controller valve at the hose does that. One press it is on, one press it is off. You can also control it via the app on your cell phone. So if I want to use the hose at the other end of the house I can use the yellow quick disconnect to hook up a second hose, or spray device, and when I am done reconnect it to the drip irrigation hose ready for the next automatic watering. Convenience like this is what I hoped for.The other thing that amazes me is that the aerials device is 40 feet from my router, and it has to go through cinder block walls to reach it, and it does so flawlessly. The sending unit, the round dot with an antenna is reaching the hose faucet as well.Having a water timer saves an enormous amount of time not having to attend to every other day chore. With this Raindrip I can set a schedule any way I like it.Expensive units also have a probe that goes into the ground sensing whether it is already wet or raining at the moment. This does not do that, but rather gives you the ability to control it from anywhere which is what’s the description states. That saves a lot of water. Overall, this is a smart looking, and acting device that definitely deserves 5 stars.

Automated, wireless sprinkler for all
Very nice unit, easy to setup with a caveat: although the app does not require an account at this moment and allows the user to 'try' the product, I would not be surprised to see if this becomes mandatory later on. The instructions are not very clear regarding the initial setup where the base unit must be configured on the app by using "AP mode" instead of "EZ mode" (the toggle is located on the top right corner of the app, after starting the manual "add device" wizard): for some reason, it will never find it over BT and it will not show up as a BT device at all, this is not mentioned on the manual.Once this done, the rest of the setup is very easy. Keep in mind that the connection between the base unit and the electronic water valve seems to be done over BT so there is a significant range limitation that should be considered when placing the base unit so it can control the valve.Additionally, I have 2 concerns:The water connection to the electronic valve is made out of plastic yet it does not provide a full 'seal' which leads to the valve to leak from the top, this does not seem to affect the valve itself but there is a leak. The app indicates that the device has a FW update to address BT bugs (possibly related to the EZ mode not working properly) but no matter how, it will always fail to install.
