Kipper - Playtime

Pretty innocent cartoon that I don’t mind my kids watching on occasion.

We tune in for my two year old, but the whole family loves Kipper. It's a really nice cartoon.

Kipper the dog is the star of this cartoon with his friends Tiger and Jake (dogs) and Pig and Arnold (pigs). Kipper is kind, clever and gentle. The show is fanciful. Kipper befriends aliens, a robot, climbs a rainbow, meets a wish granting, talking frog, uses balloons to float up to the clouds, etc. kipper has more realistic type fun too, like going to the beach and the neighborhood pool.My daughter is 3 now and has liked Kipper for a couple of years. We put this on to help her wind down, it is very mellow. My husband and I both enjoy it too. We have the entire collection

Kipper is classic - made for children, obviously, but I love watching them, too. Buy them all, if you can. Each episode is original and charming. Kipper has some loveable pals, too - including Tiger, Pig, and Arnold. My highest recommendation. Enjoy!

If you're new to Kipper, get this or any of the Kipper videos. If you already know Kipper, you won't be disappointed with this collection. They're what you'd expect: sweet stories about child-like animals (Pig, Arnold, Tiger and Jake) behaving well and sweet, but also realistically, thinking like a four year old. These guys are who you want your kids to be imitating. No whining, no spouting out overbearing lessons. Nice jazz music and the actors have pleasant voices.

My 2-1/2 year old daughter LOVES this video. The characters are sweet, funny and likable. The stories are simple but told in a charming way that isn't patronizing. The video does not have any violence or high action, and the humor is gentle and not demeaning, so it is more suited to younger children. Kindness and friendship among the characters is stressed. I've seen it multiple times with my child, and I enjoy its sweet humor, visual style and music (kind of jazzy). A word of caution: Multiple viewings may cause your child to pick up a British accent!

My two boys love Kipper. It is a nice calming show. I don't have to worry about grotesque or inappropriate behavior; I.e. rude actions or back talking. Each episode is about 15min. Encourages imagination, kindness toward others, and my boys always ask for more details about the things they see in the show. It is also based off of the books by Mick Inkpen

I bought this DVD as new and paid over $30 for it. Only to receive a scratched DVD. This was a gift. I’m so disappointed!

個人的にイギリス英語が好きでなく、キッパーのビデオは敢えて購入していなかってのですが見てみたらすごくいいです。会話がゆっくりなのでどのキャラクターも温かい雰囲気を持ってます。子供も　"To the rescue!" "What's wrong?"　なんて真似して言うようになりました。外国のアニメってＢＧＭが渋くて聞いてるうちにこどもの音楽の感性も磨かれていくような気がします。

イギリス人とのハーフである１歳になる娘の英語教育のために購入しました。夫＠イギリス人と一緒に見ていますが、娘よりは夫の方が夢中になって時に大笑いをして見ています。完璧なクイーンズイングリッシュにイギリスの生活スタイル、そして夫をも笑わせるイギリス風のジョーク、夫好みのJazzyなＢＧＭにすっかりとりこになってしまったようです（笑）初めはあまり興味を示さなかった娘ですが、夫がKipperの真似をして「Hello, Tiger.」などと話しかけたり、別に購入した絵本を見せたりしているうちに興味を持つようになったようで、今ではKipperのＢＧＭが流れると、リズムに乗って踊り出すようになりました。話の内容が理解できるようになるまでは、あと１～２年かかりそうですが、キャラクター達がゆっくり話す英語や、ごちゃごちゃせずシンプルな画像、毒のないストーリー、耳に心地よいＢＧＭは、これから何年もお世話になりそうです。アメリカ英語に慣れ親しんでいる日本人にとっては、発音や言い回し、ジョークなどがちょっと異質に感じられるかも知れませんが、一度Kipper達の世界に足を踏み込んだら、彼らのほのぼのとした魅力に引きつけられることでしょう。

見ていて、とてもほのぼの、のんびりした気持ちになれます。アメリカ英語に慣れていた私にも、特に抵抗はなく、すんなりキッパーの世界に入れました。色合いも目に優しく、小さい子供にも安心して見せられる作品です。

以前２本購入していたので、今回は予約して届くのを心待ちにしていました。ビデオの紹介欄にもありますが、本当にKipperの物語には"毒"がありません。ほんわか・おっとりしたKipperと仲間達の様子を見ていると、子供達と一緒に見ている大人の私達が癒されるような気になります。＾＾とてもきれいな英語ではっきりと聞き取れるので、子供達にとっても真似しやすく、とてもお勉強になると思います。教材としても良いのではないでしょうか。＾＾値段も手ごろですし、"お試し"のつもりで一本購入したら、すっかり虜になってしまったという感じです。

うちの2歳の息子にイギリス英語を身につけて欲しかったので（父親はイギリス人）このビデオを購入しました。ストーリが７話もあるのに1000円以下なんてとてもお買い得感があります。イギリスで作られたアニメであってもアメリカ輸入版のビデオは大体アメリカ英語になっているのですが（トーマス、ボブとブーブーブーなど）、これはオリジナルのままで買える数少ないビデオです。
