Orbit58009 Dad’s Reliable Metal Sprinkler

I needed a small sprinkler to water small odd areas in my front yard. We have very hard mineral filled water here so I wanted a sprinkler that would not get clogged like all my oscillating sprinklers have done. I have had problems with other small sprinklers not sitting flat on the ground when attached to a water filled hose so this one needed to be heavy enough to stay put. After reading the reviews I decided to give this one a try and I'm so glad I did. It's well made and it works beautifully. It will give me a large spray pattern or a smaller controlled pattern depending on the water pressure used. I like it so much that I bought a second one for my backyard.

There is something to be said about a basic sprinkler! It works great, easy to use, made of metal (won't get brittle and break) and perfect water spread! All that for a great price! Love it

Yeah this is a good one. The large nozzle means that this unit will not foul like ones with smaller openings. Additionally the weight of this, being cast iron, prevents this from turning over. The swirl produces a fine mist. Adjusting the volume of water will adjust the form of the output. Will buy again and any others with a similar design.

The media could not be loaded. Great little hose attached sprinkler with no moving parts to fail. It can water a 4 foot section to a 20 foot section of grass. It's smaller than I expected and not quite heavy enough to always lay flat. I have to twist the hose a bit for it to lay properly in the grass. I think a swivel attachment will fix this. It's only a little larger than a 4 inch diameter. It's perfect for my small section of lawn. It would be 5 stars if it was closer to a 10 inch diameter or had more weight.

I've bought three of these to use and love them. These are tje best sprinklers out there! Well made!

I appreciate the solidity of this sprinkler, and it waters a good-sized area very well, especially without having to leave it on for long.

We have an old vintage Thompson Mfg. heavy metal lawn soaker sprinkler. They don’t make them anymore. One of the feet is broken so it’s kind of a pain in the grass as it always tilts to one side. We been trying to find a sprinkler that stacks up but we just can’t find one. I was excited to find this sprinkler. When I opened the package, it was the same heavy metal and a nice wide round base. But alas, the excitement turned to resignation once I turned on the water. The hole is square so it waters great in four corners of the pattern but the sides don’t seem to get much water at all. I tried to get used to it but the pattern is so wonky placement gets a bit frustrating. So, the ol’ Thompson is back in the grass and the hunt continues for a new contender.

Love this heavy sprinkler that will sit flat when in use. It is a real classic.
