I purchased this mask because it had an exhalation valve. The way the mask was designed made the valve unless. There is the filter that covers the valve and then the fabric that holds the filter in place. With both covering the valve there was no air moving through the valve.

. I was disappointed in the lack of clear directions illustrating how to use the filters (no pictures). I guessed at how to fit the filter in. On top of that I don't like the elastic over the ears. You assume too much in the over-the-ear design. I have Cerebral Palsy with only one really good hand and it was hard to reach my left ear with my right hand. I bought it hoping to be able to go to my mailbox in the lobby without suffocating on my neighbor's cigarette smoke, but I could be to the mailbox and back to my apartment quicker than I can get the mask on. It took me 10 minutes to adjust the straps and get it on. Once I got it on, it kept the cigarette smoke out by at least 95%. I didn't notice any difference in the heat retained in this mask and the $5 dust masks I bought before. And yes, I did open the valves on the outside of the mask. I'm just not sure I had the filter in the right place. I assumed it went behind that inner flap (for lack of a better term) and that inner flap kept the heat from escaping.

Great mask. It's perfect for what I need at work and it's quite comfortable. It fits my face very well, even over my beard.My only concern is that I ordered the black mask. I got the blue one. I could use two masks, so I kept it and re-ordered the black one. I got the delivery today -- another blue one, despite my order again clearly stating my request for the black mask. I'm returning this one. One mixup is no big deal, but twice is not good. I've reordered the black one. It should be here Saturday. Wish me luck.

The description indicated this product was blue. It came on black. I really like it though. I'm gonna find a multicolored or now because my friends say I look like a ninja, etc. LOL! Oh well, I'm breathing though.

I have worked in healthcare for 30 years and also did testing and fitting for N95 masks. That type of fit is very necessary for isolation for respiratory viruses and TB or any other airborn illness. There are some important things to know about how to don the mask. It says to apply first to the chin or under the chin first, bringing the mask up over the ears and nose last. Then squeeze the metal at the nose to get a good fit. The one problem I noticed is they say the ear straps are adjustable, but I don't see how. I tried to just put a twist in them before putting them over my ears but that made the mask buckle on the sides and would not seal. It doesn't seem like it makes a"tight" seal anywhere but I don't feel I need that tight of a seal, since I no longer work in healthcare so I won't be so close to someone that the virus would reach me. I don't use public transportation or get that close to people mostly. Also viruses and bacteria usually travel out about 3-6 feet and then start to fall to the floor. The more humidity in the environment the quicker they fall. Just FYI. I feel good protection with this mask. I ordered 2 just because I want to have an extra around. Again if you are working around asbestos, patients with TB, or chemicals you want to be sure to check with OSHA for an approved mask for your purpose. This is a mask for people out and about wanting to avoid smoke, allergies, and sickness (in the public). However: I would not recommend this mask for men with facial hair. It does not pull tight enough to flatten out hair and it would cause a leak.

Came as described. The adjustable strap made the mask fit perfectly to my face. The material it is made from is very soft and comfortable on my face. I feel like I don't have to worry about allergies anymore. I would strongly recommend.

Got the Dust Respirator N95 Mask during last summers wild fires and it is well worth it $. After going a few days without it during some of the thickest smoke from the Paradise fire I felt that I had been in a room full of smokers. My throat was raw, my nose was dry and I had shortness of breath. After wearing the mask a few days those symptoms were minimized. I would not say they totally disappeared but the were much more tolerable. I recommend the Dust Respirator N95 Mask for anyone in dusty and/or smoky situations.

This is a pretty comfortable mask to wear, it's well made and all stitches are pretty firm. I can tell this will last a long time. The filtration is excellent.
